------------------------------------------------------------------
Day: Friday - 25th April 2003
Time: 12:03 pm
Listening to: Matchbox Twenty - Unwell
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, managed to get CG's contact number after all this time. Good that she's good and well though I suspect things aren't that rosy for her from what I gather, reading her blog or the events that have been happening. Still, if she's reading this - "Hope you're alright, I want you to be happy". This is all I can offer for now.

I've had this chat with EL the other day. Something along the lines of friendships or rather, maintaining them. She mentioned that sometimes, there are some people who are not worth keeping in touch with. She has the attitude where it goes like "call me if you want, if not, don't bother". Maybe I should adopt that kind of attitude as well. Why should I always try to make the first move when in the end, all I get at the other end is the sound of the ringing tone with no one ever picking up the phone? Maybe I should leave their e-mail boxes empty without sending them messages or e-mails asking how they're doing. Is friendship really that important to me? Is it worth all my effort trying to save these so-called "friendships"?

I've tried to contact some people over and over again since I came back but, naturally I can't since they've changed their contact numbers and I'm unaware of them. Maybe I'll get lucky and get an e-mail from them one of these days or something. They know where to reach me, in cyberspace that is. The others, well, I understand we all have our own lives to live, things to do. It's hard keeping in contact with one another when its not both parties making the effort I suppose.

Nothing out of the ordinary has happened lately, trying to stay home alot with the virus going around and such. Not that I make plans with most people anyway.

So anyway, I've been drowning in boredom. Spend most of my time and money on juvenile activities, namely video games. Let me tell you about my latest acquisition. =D

Wouldn't it be fun if you can manage and run your own theme park, something like say, DisneyLand? Sounds good eh? How about a park where dinosaurs roam freely? Sounds fantastic? Let me tell you the fun I've been having playing this new game I got called "Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis".

First heard about the game on "Extended Play" (Channel 13, ASTRO). I must admit I've tried out sim games like "Theme Park" and the "SimCity" series. But Jurassic Park, I enjoyed the first movie so I liked the concept of this game. Did a little research on the game and finally bought it for the PS2 along with some other games. Discovered that the PS2 version had horrible load times. The worse thing was that the game "froze" everytime I tried to access a certain function that was crucial in the game. That won't do, returned the game and exchanged it for something else.

Finally got the PC version, fast loading times and best of all - no "freezing"! Perfect. Been trying out the tutorials in the game on how to build the park, extract dino DNA from fossils, hatching dinosaurs etc. Already, my sick twisted mind is already working overtime, showing my sadistic tendencies.

Even before I start playing the game proper, I'm thinking of ways how I can let the T-Rexes and Velociraptors run wild, killing and/or devouring the park visitors. Among the plans I have for my park are:

# 1 - Building a path that leads to the Carnivore enclosures. Imagine, entering the park walking straight in and being greeted by a T-Rex

# 2 - Building the main entrance that leads straight into the dinos enclosure and watching the chaos ensue.

Sad to say, I haven't seen any of my visitors getting killed or eaten alive yet. The only things I've seen getting eaten are goats and cows. Quite amusing if I do say so myself. As you can see, I probably have too much time on my hands.

I think its time I carry on with the tutorial, learn everything I need to know about running a theme park. Time to play GOD.

Day: Thursday - 17th April 2003
Time: 12:18 pm
Listening to: Mariah Carey - I Still Believe
-------------------------------------------------------------------

There has been so much death lately. Even so that I dream about it. Strangely, my dream was about reading/hearing that actor-comedian Rowan Atkinson commited suicide. Yes - of all things, Rowan Atkinson. OK, so I'm not really a big fan of the "Mr. Bean" series. Can't say I've watched his "Black Adder" series either. I did watch "Rowan Atkinson Live" on video and that was bearable. Certain sketches were effective.

Still on the subject of death, I guess I should take this opportunity to express my condolences to AS and his family on the sudden loss of his father.

Right now, I'm still waiting for replies from all the job applications I sent out. No luck yet. It's been about 2 weeks since I got any calls. There's a career fair this weekend at Midvalley. Should be checking that out.

Managed to get in touch with VT a few days ago. Was going through my list of phone numbers stored in my mobile and decided to give her a call. Guess my timing was good this time around. Thought she was in Johor. Turns out she's working for Citibank and she's staying in PJ now! She's doing credit card sales.

Here's another one of my"observations". Could come off as a complaint. Here goes - the taste of milk is different. Yes. After being away for 2 years or so, I come back and find the taste of "Dutch Lady" packet milk different. I wouldn't be mentioning if it changed for the better. It just leaves a weird after taste, even when mixed with drinks like coffee or tea or even Milo. Weird. Either their formula has changed or I'm not used to it anymore.

I'm bored. Take me away from this boredom. Someone, please!

p/s: CG if you're reading this, I'm still waiting for you to get in touch with me as I still don't have your latest phone numbers. Thanks and take care =)

------------------------------------------------------------------
Day: Monday - 14th April 2003
Time: 1:00 pm
Listening to: The sound of the pouring rain outside my balcony
-------------------------------------------------------------------

It's raining pretty heavily. The sky is gloomy and I really shouldn't be online. I thought I should just put in an entry before I forget about it.

I think I've finally recovered from my illness. Thanks to all who were concerned. Nothing seriously wrong with me except for a little phlegm in my throat. No biggie.

Had another weird dream the other day. Sort of a "Hollywood" production. In fact, I think it could have been Godzilla in my dream. Was on some sort of boat or ship and this Godzilla climbed on board in the middle of the ocean. Lots of chases on the decks of the ship, lots of breaking and smashing, loud roars, swimming in the ocean, even a little romance thrown into the mix. Everything you'd see in a movie. Yours truly was of course the main character, while the female lead was, of all people, Sally Wignell.

Who's Sally Wignell? She happens to be a colleague of mine back in Melbourne when I was working at Maccas. Strange that I dreamt about her because I wasn't that close to hear in the first place. Sure we did chat a couple of times but I think she was a casual who normally worked on weekends.

Damn, there was another thing I wanted to write about but I forgot what it was about.

And now - the thought has come back to me. It's about food. Yes. Food, glorious food! OK, that was either from "The Sound Of Music" or "Oliver Twist".

What's my point? Being sick for the past few days, the sort of food I could eat was limited - thanks to mum. Not that I'm complaining, mummy knows best and she wanted me to get well soon of course. Fried foods was kept to a minimum. I was eating quite alot of wet food, like porridge and soup noodles, stuff like that.

On Saturday evening, dad bought some pretty basic stuff like "pai kuat wong" (barbeque pork ribs???), fried chicken with assam sauce and japanese toufu with vegetable and egg gravy. I can now admit I used to take food like that for granted but after being sick for so many days, eating food like that was just - indescribable. Just eating pieces of that fried chicken with that sweet and sour-ish gravy. Mmm mmm mmm. Didn't think that I would think this way but I think I really do miss Malaysian food.

I must go for satay again one of these days, only had satay once ever since I got back from Melbourne, and that was on the day I arrived back home. Anyone wants to drive me to Kajang? Hell - I'll even settle for the hawker stalls in SS 2. The satay there isn't too bad.

Any volunteers?

Day: Monday - 8th April 2003
Time: 3:06 pm
Listening to: Gabrielle - Sunshine
-------------------------------------------------------------------

How ironic - listening to this song while its raining outside. The past few days have really been shitty. Down with the flu. Must've got it from mum who in turn got it from one of her students.

This constant sneezing is irritating, if nothing else. Doesn't help that there's this virus going around now. Hopefully its nothing serious. I'm taking my pills and trying to get as much rest as possible.

Been having some weird dreams lately as well. I remember 2 of them vividly.

Dream # 1 - I remember cooking (surprise! surprise!). Something I hardly do. Strange thing is that there was this "aunty" who was with me. No idea who she was. Funny thing was she kept finishing the crepes that I made. She kept commenting how good they were.

Dream #2 - I somehow found half of my degree burnt. Yes - burnt. It was rolled up but the bottom half of it was burnt.

Meanwhile, still waiting for replies from the various job applications I've sent out. It's like a full circle again. Back to being unemployed. I think the stress due to all this waiting is getting to me. It's not like I want to sit around doing nothing. I can't rush things, can I?

* CG, if you're reading this - you might have noticed I left a message on your site. I actually did call you but it was in the afternoon. Don't know why I called even though I knew chances are you wouldn't be in. *

Nothing much to write down. Mind's a mess, life's a mess, the world's a mess. What's wrong?
