This is Sparta!!!!!

I think that has to be "THE" catchphrase at the moment. I've seen it popping up in message boards and I have been guilty of muttering it a couple of times.

Managed to catch "300" with SW at GSC Berjaya Times Square today. I haven't seen SW since.....I don't remember how long but I think the last time I saw her was probably January 2006.

SW has seen the movie once before, but she didn't mind watching it again. We met up late and I couldn't get tickets online or via telephone booking. And because I'm shit at KL roads, I took the LRT to town as usual. I managed to get 2 tickets for the 7pm show.

I arrived early so I decided to do some window shopping. Stopped by one of the toystores. Oh - the temptation. I ended up with .....

NIKE Air Cortez (White, Black & Atomic Green)

The last time I wanted to get shoes, I hesitated and the next time I went back, the Hush Puppies Risk was no longer available. The sales people at the store were so eager to make the sale today that the girl rushed to the store to check for availability the moment I told them my size.

She came back and said that I was in luck as they had a last pair of size 12.5 (US). I tried it on, and promptly paid for them. RM 199.90 less 10%. I think its a pretty good price for a very comfy pair of sneakers.....

King Leonidas, the Spartans and the Arcadians

This is Sparta!!!!!

I enjoyed the movie, I think there's a bit of everything for everyone (over the age of 18 of course as the movie is rated 18-PL). Lots of blood and violence, lots of eye candy for men and ladies (as well as everything in between I think!).

SW told me that some parts were censored in the version she saw today and the one at TGV the other day. Then again, there were also some parts that were in today's show that she didn't see the other day!

I've actually read Frank Miller's graphic novel and I think its a pretty accurate adaptation of the comic. Then again, there are people who say that the movie dialogue is full of cliches. Final verdict, its an enjoyable movie which I think needs to be watched on the big screen. Unless you wait for the DVD and have a nice LCD TV with a home theater setup you can watch it on.

SW now says she wants to go for a movie marathon next Saturday. Guillermo del Toro's (whose last movie I remember was "Hellboy") "Pan's Labyrinth" is on the list.

The movie received alot of good reviews, some saying its the best movie of 2006. And its showing here in Malaysia now! In March 2007. What the.....?!?!?!?!

Came across a new photo from "Spider-Man 3". That's the next big movie I'm waiting for.

Rumours were going around that Venom wasn't going to be in "Spider-Man 3". It was just the alien symbiote merging with Eddie Brock (Topher Grace). But this pic shows otherwise, unless its a god-damn teaser/cliffhanger! Can't wait for May 2007! This is a must-watch!

Spider-Man vs Venom!

And just for the heck of it, another photo taken with my camera phone.

Toblerone - Buy 2, get 1 free

Ryoga's Troopers and Darth Vader

It may not look like much, but Ryoga's collection in the picture above costs about RM 10,000. And those are just some of the figures that he has I'm sure.

Those are Medicom 12-inch figures. And the price of Medicom figures range from RM 500 - 700 EACH! I wish I had that kind of money to spend on toys.

Like this dude, Netboy.....

Pic taken from tfclub.com

You've seen the following pictures before:

Medicom Bruce Lee

The Medicom RAH 12-inch Bruce Lee looks good.

Enterbay - Bruce Lee (Game Of Death)

The Enterbay Bruce Lee (Game Of Death) sculpted by Korean Arnie Kim, is even better. But.....

Enterbay - Bruce Lee (The Way Of The Dragon)

Enterbay's Bruce Lee (The Way Of The Dragon) is fucking unbelievable.

Can someone give me RM 1000? These are limited to only about 25oo worldwide I believe. Damn!

A quote from the email I received from one of the shops:

More valuable than gold.....

REESE's PEANUT BUTTER CUPS - ZOMFG!

This is so hard to find it might as well be worth more than gold! Daf got it from the airport I presume but why only 1 pack? Should have gotten more, then auction it off on eBay! Yeah!
Why don't they sell this at supermarkets?

SW text-ed me and said that "300" is a damn good movie - a MUST watch. I was hesitant thinking that the movie will be censored for various reasons. It isn't the case apparently.

My Xbox360 can blog. And I didn't know it was such a clingy little "bitch" :P It is interesting to see the different posts. I'll let it suffer abit more. Just a few days before its the weekend again.

"Dead Rising" is addictive. Sure the story isn't much, but I think I'm almost done with the game. Beating the shit out of zombies sure is fun and there's a sense of satisfaction when you hear the squishing sounds, grunts and moans as your weapon makes contact with the rotten flesh and blood splatters.

Play this game and watch your sadistic side emerge from within.

Been playing around with the camera again - testing out the different modes.

Macro - Raindrops on the bus window

Infinity - Beyond the raindrops.....

Its been exactly a week since we've had the server problems at work. IT says it'll take minimum 1 - 2 weeks and that might involve upgrading the entire server. I can't get any work done. I don't know if its a good thing or bad but I know I get bored as hell when I have nothing to do.

I dread to think of how much catch up I have to do when things go back to normal. Shit.

Korean BBQ.....

The family decided to have Korean BBQ the other day and we ate at a place called Daorae in Kota Damansara.

Dining with Rain (the Korean SuperStar)..... not quite. But we were informed by the waiter that Rain did stop by this outlet and had dinner in the very same room we were in though. There was an autographed poster near the entrance, plus Daorae was one of the official sponsors for his concert recently.

Its been sometime since I last had Korean BBQ. I miss the old Deli-Q Restaurants where it was BBQ, buffet-style! We had pork, lamb, chicken, squid. The pork ranks # 1 in my book followed by the lamb. There was chilli in the squid and chicken which I didn't particularly like.

There were also other side dishes like Kim Chi, vebgetables, egg and some other stuff. Best of all, free "refills"! The potato and fruit salad kept on coming! My favourite of the lot.

Service was great as the waiters will do the actual BBQ-ing for you. They put the meats onto the BBQ-thinggie (its 4:20 am and my brain is shutting down) and even cut the meat into bite size pieces for you once its cooked!

Left with filled tummies and another souvenier for me. A plaster because there was a bit of the metal chopstick shaving that was sticking out and pierced me. Ouch.

Thumbs up for the food and service

I don't mind self service BBQ - can someone tell me if there's still a Deli-Q around?!?!?!

Haven't had much time for TV shows lately. Most of my time occupied doing other things last weekend. Sure, the BBQ dinner took awhile. But also because of this.....

After working and slaving like a mule for a year, I decided to give myself a reward.

XBOX 360 Limited Edition with Ninety Nine Nights and Project Gotham Racing 3

Gears Of War & Dead Or Alive 4

XBOX 360 Wireless Controller

I was actually planning to get the Dead Or Alive 4 bundle (with an extra wireless controller) but the owner was pushing for me to get this bundle, and he threw in Dead Or Alive 4 for free! I guess sometimes, there are rewards for being a loyal customer!

It was basically the same package in terms of hardware, just different games but I get a total of 3 free games instead of the original 1 game (if I had gotten the Dead Or Alive 4 pack).

The Boss has just sent me a note stating that the other game I wanted, Dead Rising has arrived. If all goes well, I'll be killing some zombies this weekend! Sweet.....

Gong Xi Fa Cai.....

Officially, another year gone by based on the Chinese calender.

Chinese New Year celebrations haven't been the same compared to when we were younger. These days, they're more quieter celebrations. Probably a sign that age is catching up.

I remember once upon a time when I would take the Intrakota Bus 21 that stops by Lot10 for CNY shopping. It would be a stop to the Quiksilver shop at Starhill Shopping Gallery for RM 90 t-shirts. And I would always get a few in different colours and designs. Ahhhhh, those were the days.

What did I get this year? ONE shirt, and at the last minute - I managed to get myself a new pair of Levi's. Yes, I think its been at least 4 years since I last bought a new pair of jeans. The last 2 pairs were from Melbourne during a Levi's clearance sale. It was factory outlet stuff but it was 2 for the price of 1! AUS $100 for 2 pairs of 505s (the old one) was a bargain!

The "styles" are all different now. 505 used to be "straight-cut" jeans but now they have turned into "tight-straight". The new "straight-cut" are now 512.

My first pair of Levi's in 4 years!

Shopping for the jeans was a nightmare! Heck, shopping for ANYTHING is a nightmare for me with my shopping attitude/habits.

I had previously gone to Marks & Spencers and checked out their jeans there. Thought I had better look around for more choices.

Went to Hush Puppies to get a pair of casual shoes but it sold out! If anyone sees a style of shoes at Hush Puppies called "Risk", let me know, I'm looking for the brown ones as the 1U store only has the grey ones left. I'm angry at myself for not getting them earlier.

Then again, that's my problem when it comes to shopping for anything. I need to ponder and decide and I will sometimes take forever. When I finally decide to get something, I will find it sold out and no longer available. Both D & D have had personal experiences with me and my indecisiveness when I was in Melbourne, thinking to buy or not to buy a pair of Nike Air Prestos.

If you read some of my previous posts, you will see that I do the same for other stuff such as toys as well. Why can't I just buy first and think later? Some people have said the same thing, especially about buying toys. Buy first, regret later. Guess I never learn

CNY isn't complete without the obligatory visiting and reunion dinner. The first one was just a small one with the parents and siblings. By the time we usually get to the 2nd reunion dinner, like we did last night, I get abit "tired" of the Yee Sang, and the Sharks Fin etc. Yes, it really is possible for that to happen. These 8 course meals are not doing me any good!

A short stop to 2 houses yesterday. Took a picture at one of them and I must say, I'm quite happy with the results of this shot. I think its one of the best I've taken so far as I'm still learning to take photos.

In the one of the halls of Uncle K and Aunt L's house

The reason I didn't go around and take more pics of the house? My ass was stuck to the couch in the TV hall, and my eyes were mostly glued to this:

I need one of these for my gaming! Look at the size of that screen!

Did some probing and found out that this China-made LCD was bought 2 years ago for about RM 10,000. That's a steal. Sure, its not a branded one but I think its pretty good. Placed a can of Coke on the shelf, just for a size comparison. Man, wouldn't it be awesome to have one of these for my games and movies! It will be a reality, someday! :P

It could be my imagination but this years Ang Pow haul isn't too bad. I think its one of the highest in recent memory.

And overhead, "does Roy Eng have a girlfriend yet?". I think this is like an annual report that everyone wants to know about. Argh. Good thing the question wasn't direct at me.

So, here's just something else:

Valentine's Day Chocolates

Been spending the past few days catching up on my TV shows. I think I'm halfway through "Lost Season 1".

Another 2 days of lazing around and its back to work on Friday, then another 2 days of lazing around. I think its going to be a good week.....

Heroes - Believe The Hype.....

HEROES

What can I say? I'm really hooked. This series received lots of good reviews and they were right though it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Every episode ends with a cliffhanger. This is a good show. Thanks to modern technology, I've just finished watching episode 4.

So far, the storyline is similar to what you will read in comics - but the plot: A group of people from all over the world start to discover that they aren't normal and start to display "powers", ie. flight, invincibility, super strength, mind reading, the ability to see the future etc.

More info on Wikipeadia here. A must watch!

I've spent so much time on movies and tv shows lately. I finally got to watch "The Departed".

I wanted to catch it at the cinemas when it was showing but thinking it was just a remake of "Infernal Affairs", I decided there was no rush.

The verdict? I still prefer "Infernal Affairs". I think it was more stylish, modern. "The Departed" with the Irish traditional music etc didn't really appeal to me.

The odd thing is, I have no idea what both of these movie titles mean or refer to.

Also watched a comic-based, Hong Kong martial arts movie called "Dragon Tiger Gate" starring Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse and Shawn Yue. Nothing much to shout about other than the fight scenes, a little over the top but I prefer Donnie Yen's "SPL" more. Maybe its because it was a cop movie. We need more movies like "Infernal Affairs"!

I've just discovered a review of "Dragon Tiger Gate", here.

I've finally managed to get something out of my deposit that I placed about 1/2 a year ago when I wanted to order my Masterpiece Optimus Prime (HASBRO Version).

Had to forfeit 50% of it but then I didn't really need another Optimus Prime in my collection, not when its the same exact version! I guess it beats paying another RM 300 and getting another Optimus Prime on my shelf.

Instead, I placed a pre-order for Masterpiece 05 (MP-05) Megatron!

MP-05 Megatron

Some other interesting things I found online:

A Soundwave MP3 player. Soundwave used to be a tape-recorder/hi-fi in the old cartoons. In fact, I think the design on this MP3 player is still based on his old tape recorder look. Now, they've actually made a functioning MP3 player that also transforms.

Collaboration between TAKARA and Apple, the Optimus Prime iPod docking charger with speakers! If only I had an iPod!

A Nike and TAKARA collaboration! I don't know if this is meant to be a joke or what but transformable shoes?! I reckon its just Transformers in the shape of Nike sneakers.
