Another new "Dark Knight" trailer.....

Just when I thought there wasn't any more..... the quality isn't good though.

Link

And just for the heck of it, some TV spots:

TV Spot # 1 - The scene with Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale - like James Bond and Q?
TV Spot # 2
TV Spot # 3 - Must watch, if only for Joker's expression at the end

Why Hot Toys? WHY?!?!?

My updates have been far and in between lately. Writer's block? Or lack of interesting topics?

Hot Toys is bleeding me dry. Oh yes they are. They've released photos of their upcoming 1/6th scale figures from "The Dark Knight". And they are awesome.

So awesome that I wasted no time pre-ordering them. These 2 babies are going to cost me a bomb. And that's not counting the new Dark Knight suit. It's just a matter of time before pictures of those are released.

I think that's a bloody good likeness of Christian Bale

The Joker doesn't particularly look like Heath Ledger, but its a damn fine figure. And looking at the circumstances, I think this is one figure that's going to sell out fast.

So, in their newsletter, Hot Toys wrote that they were releasing 5 products from their "The Dark Knight" license - the first two being the 2 figures above. They teased the customers stating that the fans should get bigger shelves or clear their shelves.

Why?

Because of this:

Collectors were speculating that Hot Toys were going to release a Batpod (in case you didn't know, its the "bike" that Batman rides in the picture above that's featured in the trailers). Too be honest, the Batpod is kinda cool and all, but it wasn't really something that would be a "must have" item for me.

Then Hot Toys blows us all away when this picture was leaked:

Hot Toys are releasing a 1/6th scale MOTHER-FUCKING Tumbler! And its got working lights! This thing is going to be huge. And naturally, the price will be a bomb as well.

As a comparison, the priciest item from Hot Toys yet, the Aliens Power Loader which came with an Ellen Ripley 12-inch figure (price was close to RM 1ooo).

Size of box with a 12 inch tall Donald Trump figure. Can you imagine the size of the box now?

Come to think of it, maybe the Power Loader cost close to RM 1000 due to the added cost of including a 12-inch Ripley figure with it.

Here's hoping that the Tumbler will be alot cheaper than the Power Loader. Please, please, please.

It's been sometime since I last watched a movie at the cinema. Managed to catch "Iron Man" a couple of weekends ago.

People have been raving on and on about how awesome "Iron Man" was. I thought it was alright. I don't know, I just think that I'm just so hyped about "The Dark Knight" its going to be the movie to beat (IMO) for the year. Nothing else seems to matter. And all this is just from the few minutes from the trailers of Heath Ledger's performance.

There's talk about how Heath Ledger should get an Oscar for his role as Joker. I guess its true what they say, there's no Heath Ledger in that movie, there's only The Joker. Heath Ledger IS The Joker.

Some new pics and posters.

It's going to be awesome and I'm still counting down the days. Very soon.....

Oh yeah, it sucks when you're stuck in bed with busted up ankles. Feels like being a crippled. Good thing the swelling's gone down. I should be up and running by Monday (I hope! I better be!)

Took 2 days of leave on Thursday and Friday to "rest". Might as well, on the last count, I still had 20 days of leave which I have not allocated. Plus its already the middle of the year!

I think I need a vacation - just to chill, just to recharge. Don't necessarily need to head off to some exotic destination (though that would be nice), just relax, not think about work.

Maybe I should plot some leave during the opening day of "The Dark Knight". Sounds like a plan.....

I know I've posted this before, but this has to be seen in Hi Def.

Oh My God!!!!!

It's out!!!!!

The new "The Dark Knight" trailer is finally out. I was just blogging about it yesterday.

It includes some of the old footage from Trailer # 2 but the new one is about 30 seconds longer, has more footage of Heath Ledger's Joker, Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dentand Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes. There also appears to be a shot of Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face (if you watch carefully).

Overall, I feel its less action-packed than Trailer # 2, more drama. But it shows off alot more of The Joker

Download the trailer in all its HD glory at the official site here!

My laptop had problems running the best quality version, which is about 217MB. Might need to settle for the lower quality one.

In the meantime, you can view them in YouTube.

My first Apple .....

I finally took the plunge and got myself a sexy, shiny 16GB Apple iPhone for RM 2170. And iLove it!

I got this beauty on 19th April 2008 and the first thing I did with it (after testing out the features etc. of course) was to go online and started downloading photos of Album Art to be used for the Cover Flow, like shown below:

Almost every night since 19th April 2008, I was online looking in Amazon.com, Google and Wikipedia looking for the best album covers in the best resolutions possible. Yes, call me a "perfectionist".

I was comparing multiple pictures whenever possible, looking to use the best one. Maybe its not "perfectionist" but another term.....

2 weeks later, with 466 photos worth 112 MB, I finally completed my task. And that's only for the 600+ favourite songs I have on the iPhone, which is about 1/4 of my MP3 collection. I suppose there's more work to be done.

Yes, the iPhone took up almost all of my free time to the extent that I have not blogged lately.

Some colleagues have been absolutely impressed with how the thing works, one of them even said that if he wants to get one, he'll let me know.

I loved looking at the reactions on their faces when they were trying it out. Jaw-dropping, swear-inducing *Holy shit! Look at that!*, to the more usual *OMIGOD*.

As I mentioned before, some of the phone functions were terrible. Unable to delete individual sms. The text messages are arranged in such a way that it appears to be a conversation, displayed via speech bubbles. Deleting an sms would wipe out the entire "conversation".

The phone was also unable to forward sms, unable to send MMS.

The camera also didn't have any features whatsoever! No special effects, no fancy BestPic function, not even a zoom!

Thank god all the 3rd Party Applications allowed fixes for all the issues I mentioned above.

As seen in my last post, the 2 Megapixel camera takes decent shots with good lighting:

The photos above were taken at the Management BBQ, at my colleagues place in Bandar Bukit Puchong called "The Heron Residency".

More pictures taken from the garden/house compound/outdoor:

Overall, I'm extremely pleased and impressed with my new phone. The seller gave me a free screen protector and also a rubber case to protect it. It's not that the case makes it look ugly, but the phone looks completely different (better) without the case.

With the casing.....

Free.....

I might probably go get a new screen + body protector for the iPhone called the Invisible Shield. It's a thin, transparent film used to protect the iPhone all around.

Apparently, these come with a lifetime guarantee and I've seen it going for RM 99 on Lowyat.net sales thread. The people who manufacture the Invisible Shield uses the same stuff to protect helicopter blades.

Check out the videos below to see the abuse it can stand:

Invisible Shield - Scratch Test, Water Proof

Invisible Shield - Strength Test (Bowling Ball)
Invisible Shield - Strength Test (Gym Weights)

Hey, if it can protect swirling helicopter blades, withstand even the drop of a bowling ball, it must be good enough for accidental scratches, isn't it?

I got this 2 days ago:

I don't know what made me do it, but I paid RM 385 for a game that comes with a safe deposit box (with working lock and keys), a keychain, artbook, game soundtrack and a duffel bag. The standard edition costs RM 170.

It's one of the most anticipated games to come out - very good reviews and ratings but I didn't spend much playing it.

Even though I was caught in the madness which is the iPhone, I did have time for "The Dark Knight" though. I hear a new trailer is expected within the next few weeks. In the meantime, the following images were released:

Drool-worthy.....

Can hardly wait!
