Day: 194 (Sunday, 30th June 2002)
Status: End of Week # 4
Days without PS2: 1 day(s)
Days without Cube: 0 day(s)
Listening to: Nelly - Ride Wit Me
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Saw the video of "Ride Wit Me" on tv this afternoon. Didn't have net access then because DT turned off his pc. And I was wondering why. I only found out when I went up to iron my uniform. He and ML went out to play golf. I stayed home and watched "Blair Witch 2: The Book of Shadows". Nothing really special about it. Guess I had nothing else to do.

Played some "Super Monkey Ball" as well. Decided to go to get some groceries after that. Decided to get my stuff from Coles. Why? Because there is a particular brand of chocolate milk, "Pura" that always seem to sell out at Safeway. Also, I kinda remembered that Georgia was supposed to be working today, so I thought I'd drop by and have a look as well.

So I took a tram off around 6 pm or so, after DT and ML got back from their golf and grocery shopping. It was already dark at that time. The tram was already at the stop. As the tram stop closest to Coles was just a little further down the street, I had to walk back and had to pass Macca's as well. I decided to have dinner, saw Tony and he showed me the thumbs-up sign and I returned the "greeting". And Georgia was at the counter with this other girl, Mimi, whom I've never seen before. Tony came up beside me and talked to me for awhile, asking me how was work at Kew etc. Asked me what's up and I said I was going to have my dinner and needed to do some shopping at Coles.

Georgia took my order (YES!!!!). Did I mention how pretty she looks when she smiles? Did I also mention she looks a little like Natalie Portman? Anyway, I had to wait a few minutes for my burger. Then when she came out, she passed me my burger and also took another one to another customer. As she was walking past:

Me: Hey *smiles*, did you get my note?
GV: Yeah I did. *smiles*
Me: Erm, so how come there hasn't been a response yet?
GV: Not yet... *smiles*
Me: Oh ok *smiles*.

I couldn't say more because she had to rush back to the counter. There were only 3 of them plus Tony working there tonight as far as I could tell.

As I was having dinner, I saw Steve, my previous trainer coming up. He stopped to chat a short while, then went off. After dinner, went to get my groceries, got home, showered, watched abit of "Enemy of the State" on DVD. And here I am, 2 hours later. Weekends seem to be so boring, I guess I use this time for just chilling out, relaxing.

Almost time for me to go to bed. This is all for tonight.

Day: 193 (Saturday, 29th June 2002)
Status: Week # 4
Days without PS2: 0 day(s)
Days without Cube: 0 day(s)
Listening to: Incubus - Are You In?
--------------------------------------------------------------------

"Incubus - Are You In?" has quite a catchy tune. Saw the video on tv the other day and I noted down the title of the song immediately. Downloaded it last night.

It was a FUCKING crazy day at work yesterday. Some of the staff told me that Fridays are usually the busiest days of the week. And it was proven yesterday, although for a different reason altogether. The place was packed because it was the last day of school before their holidays start. Some of the kids fucking messed up the place, leaving all their rubbish on the tables, benches and the floor of the play area.

I worked continuously for about 4 1/2 hours before I finally got my short break. The customers were just coming in non-stop. I think I handled the pressure considerably well since Mandy, ended up in tears, possibly due to her stressing herself out. This Mandy is a weird one. Heard from Ben that she's a good worker and I don't deny that. But it seems to me that she's got a mild case of "Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour" or something. She wipes the stainless steel doors and equipment and makes sure they are spotless with no smudges/fingerprints! It seems that she was recently hospitalized after blacking out at work at another branch, falling face first onto the floor, smashing her jaw and some teeth (I think). She's got stitches under her chin to prove it.

Before the school rush, guess who came into the store? YUP, Georgia Virtue. I was actually serving customers when she came in, then I saw her when she waved at me. Of course I waved back. The girl/lady she was with came over to my counter and I served her. Hrm, why didn't Georgia come over? Has she read my note yet? Why no email or messages from her yet? Why? Guess I won't find out the answers just yet. Shouldn't get too worked up over this either. Maybe she'll keep visiting me at the store :þ

Got up early this morning, had a shower, then rushed out to the city. I thought I'd get my Timberland boots before they sold out. I think I should skip all the tiny details and just say that I managed to get my Timberland Yellowboot for about $ 210 after the 30% discount. I also bought a white collared Timberland shirt, and ended up buying a Jumpman (Michael Jordan/Nike) beanie from Foot Locker. It seemed to be big enough to fit my head, and it was $ 5 cheaper than the Nike store!

Stopped by HMV to have a look. Sales everywhere, it's so dangerous, I tell you. Almost ended buying 3 CDs for $ 45. I was just looking around and saw the old "All Saints" album that I have on tape back home. Also wanted to get Anastacia's first album and "The Lord of The Rings OST". I put the whole stack of CDs back. Just thought it wasn't something I needed. Guess I should save money when I can. Already spent $ 210 for the boots and about $ 62 for the shirt. Guess the $ 45 I save from not getting the CDs can be spent on other stuff, some other time.

I think I better post this up before the Net access goes haywire for whatever reason again. This is all for tonight. Feeling surprisingly sleepy and its only 11.03 pm. Maybe I need more sleep.

Day: 193 (Saturday, 29th June 2002)
Status: Week # 4
Days without PS2: 0 day(s)
Days without Cube: 0 day(s)
Listening to: City High - What Would You Do
--------------------------------------------------------------------

It was my last day at Hawthorn yesterday (Tuesday). The first few people I saw at work when I got there were Tony and Dora. Both of them said that I shouldn't leave and I should carry on there. I told Tony that if he could give me a full time job, I'd stay. Unfortunately, everyone seems to be getting less work hours there.

Later on, a few of the others found out that I would be transferring to Kew. Here were some of their reactions and responses:

Justine - "No, you can't go. I won't allow you to go."

Lisa - *eyes becomes bigger with surprise/shock* "No! Don't go, I'm going to miss you."

After my shift, Lisa was in the crew quarters training this new girl. I went into the changing room to get changed and when I was done, I was just standing in the door way for awhile because Lisa seemed busy. After that, she saw me, said that she was going to miss me. Then she said "Come here" and proceeded to give me a hug, which kind of surprised me. Still it was nice to know that I would be missed.

I got my dinner, then passed the card that I got to Justine in the office. She said she would put it up for everyone to see. She seemed a bit touched when I gave her the card, saying it was "so nice" of me. I also left the letter for Georgia. I don't know if she got it or read it yet. More on her later.

I left my shoes at the shoe repair shop, just opposite Macca's, yesterday after work. The guy at the store (who turns out to be a regular at Macca's I've seen many times) told me I could fix up the heel cushion by putting a piece of leather and stitching it up. I asked how long it would take and he said I could collect it today. He said it was going to cost $ 26. I told him I'll leave it there and needed it before Thursday. I guess its better than paying for a new pair of shoes at the moment.

I went totally crazy today. Was out on a shopping spree! I decided to go to the city to claim some money from Medibank. About $ 105.20 back from the claims. I also felt like having the Beef Burrito's at the Collin's Street food court today. Stopped by at Minotaur to have a look at the comics and action figures there. Seems that "Spider-Man" is on the cover of most of the latest movie related magazines.

After that, I made the big mistake of going window shopping again. I told you it was EVIL. Stopped at Pulsar and saw that they had 3 copies of Super Monkey Ball for the Cube left. And there was a sticker that said $10 off for cash purchase. I noticed that some of the games there were on discount, like "Spider-Man: The Movie" and "Batman: Vengeance" had "$ 15 off" stickers on them. There were some with "$ 10" and "$ 20" off stickers. Looked around and saw that some of the older PS2 games are much cheaper now. Was tempted to get "Maximo" which is about $ 70 - $ 79 now.

Thinking about how good the reviews for "Super Monkey Ball" were, I thought I could go to Toys R Us, get them to do a price match and use my $ 10 discount voucher (3 left) to get it for $ 78! Unfortunately, they have sold out and told me that they could try calling the other stores and asking them to transfer a copy over if they had it. The price match would only be done if and when they have the item on sale, and if the other stores have it in stock as well, without any discount prices. At first I asked the girl to place an order for me, but changed my mind at the last minute. I asked her if it was too much trouble, but she said it was alright. I thanked her and left. Oh, Cute Girl # 1 and # 2 were not there AGAIN. Ended up buying a 2nd Gamecube controller for about $50, which is $10 off the original price.

Went to Daimaru to see if I could get the Timberland wallet cheap. There were "30% off" posters everywhere. Alot of the stock have been sold or transported elsewhere. Some of the shelves and counters are empty. And when I got to the Timberland section, I was told that they had sold out of the wallets. What timing!

Next stop, Myer. Went to the games section and all software were 15% off! I looked around for "Super Monkey Ball" but couldn't find it. Asked one of the sales staff and he checked and then returned to tell me they had sold out as well! I spotted the copy of "Tekken Tag Tournament" which I've been eyeing for a very very long time. The reason I wanted it was that it comes in the original cover and not the shitty "Platinum" range they have now with the platinum coloured borders. It was also at "Platinum" price of $ 49.95 and with an additional 15% off! Got that as well. Went downstairs to get $ 5 worth of "mixed Bhuja" which is like kacang putih. The girl, whom I've seen before, Linda (saw her name tag, quite a cute Asian girl with slightly dark skin, Indonesian maybe) asked me if I was going to take it overseas and I thought it was an odd question. The conversation went like this:

Me: Can I have $ 5 worth of the "mixed Bhuja" please.
Linda: $ 5? Sure. Are you taking this overseas.
Me: *surprised* Erm, why? Can't I take it overseas?
Linda: Oh no, I was just asking so I know if I need to seal it.
Me: *smiles* No, no, I'm not taking it overseas.

I paid her the $ 5 and left. $ 5-worth is a hell alot of "Bhuja". Don't even know what the hell it means but I know it tastes nice because I've bought it before. The bag is about 1/2 the length of a standard-sized keyboard now. Let's see, its got murukku, peas, nuts, raisins, some sort of seed, some sticks that look like "Double Decker Prawn Crackers" but they're sweet. Spiced. Nice :D

Had to go back to Pulsar now to get "Super Monkey Ball". When I got there, there were still 3 left. Took one to the counter and asked what does the sticker mean, and if I would still get $ 10 off if I paid by EFTPOS. He said it was fine and I asked if he had a new one. It seems those were the only 3 left.

So at the end of the day, had to rush home to collect my shoes before 5.30 pm when they close. Got homed, tested the demo of "Timesplitters 2" which I received today, won from a little giveaway. Tested out a few rounds of "Tekken Tag Tournament" as well. Before I knew it, 1 hour was up and I had to go out. I haven't even tried out "Super Monkey Ball" yet!

Made a call to the shop to let them know I was on the way. As I was walking to the shop, going past Macca's, I saw that Jezza, Lisa and Georgia along with some other people there. I was wondering if she had already gotten my "note". After picking up my shoes, I went to have my dinner, thought I would play my little "game" with Georgia again. But then, she was leaving for her break! I ordered from this other girl I don't know and waited. While waiting for my meal, Lisa came down and didn't notice me. After I called out to her, she sat down with me and we had a chat. It must've been about 1/2 an hour and she said she had to leave after that. While chatting with Lisa, I saw Georgia buy an ice-cream cone. She saw me and waved then left. I thought she was leaving for a break, turns out I was wrong. She must've finished her shift and was on her way home. I didn't get to talk to her today. Too bad. I can't go online now to see if she mailed or left me an ICQ message, and there has been no calls from her yet. Hrmmmmm.

Anyway, tried out "Super Monkey Ball" when I got home.

So anyway, the total "DAMAGE" done today:

a) Gamecube controller - $ 49.82
b) Tekken Tag Tournament - $ 42.46
c) Super Monkey Ball - $ 88.00

Total - $ 180.28

Damn, what the hell is wrong with me and all this spending? I have to try to limit myself.

I guess I should stop here. Can't upload all this until I have net access again. According to DT, we've exceeded the monthly usage and I don't know why he disabled the network connections. Damn it. Early to bed tonight, need to be up early for work tomorrow morning.

Day: 188 (Monday, 24th June 2002)
Status: Week # 4
Days without PS2: 0 day(s)
Days without Cube: 0 day(s)
Listening to: Speed - White Love
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, what a day. You will not believe the things that happened today. Nothing that interesting but there are some sudden changes.

Went to sleep early last night thinking it would do me good since I had to get up really early this morning. Got up around 3 am, had some gastric pains so I decided to have some milk. Just when I flicked the switch for my room ceiling light, the bulb fizzled and popped. There is this particular sound when the tungsten ( if they still use tungsten ) wire breaks. Here I was, 3 am in the morning, without a light. After having some milk, decided to bring in the sprare bulb to replace the one that just blew. Thought I would change it later in the day. Then I realised that I would be awake early and there probably wouldn't be any sunlight then. Armed with my trusty "Maglite" keychain/flashlight and a chair, I was changing a light bulb at 3 am in the morning.

I couldn't go back to sleep after that. No matter how I tossed and turned, I just couldn't. I was lying in bed for 3 hours until I decided I might as well get up for breakfast and a shower before work. All I could think about was Georgia. :þ

Got to work 15 minutes early and met the crew trainer, Tom. I've seen him before a couple of times. The only other person there was a guy called Andrew, whom I've seen many times before. I got a short tour of the place, so much bigger than Hawthorn. Tom said that Ben would talk to me about the work arrangements when he arrived. Took me some time to get adjusted to the breakfast menu since I've never done breakfast before. The other difference is that there is a drive-thru here so I had a crash course in that as well. I think it's alright and I'll manage as time goes by.

Later on, Wil and Ben arrive. Ben pulls me aside and talks to me. Tells me he has a full time opening for me and it's mine if I want it. Of course I want it! It's money!!! I said I'll take the job, then he told Wil, "welcome our new full timer". It seems that he specifically asked for me when O' Neal was transferred to Hawthorn. I guess he knew I wanted to work more hours and that was something that the Hawthorn store couldn't provide. I guess its like a symbiotic relationship. Erm, I wonder if I got that right. If memory serves, symbiosis is about 2 organisms depending on each other for mutual benefit. I think. Anyway, he also said that tomorrow will be my last day at Hawthorn and that he had 2 shifts for me on Thursday and Friday. And here I was a couple of days ago, complaining that I only have on shift this week. You see how quickly things can change over the course of time? Oh, here's the defintion of symbiosis:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
sym·bi·o·sis Pronunciation Key (sim-beo-sis, -b-)
n. pl. sym·bi·o·ses (-sz)

1. Biology. A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms of different species that may, but does not
necessarily, benefit each member.
2. A relationship of mutual benefit or dependence.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I was given a break at 10.30 am and I was offered a free meal ( full timer benefits ) but I wasn't that hungry. The place felt alien. It just felt different. Maybe because I didn't know anyone there. Actually, I didn't really know the rest of the people at Hawthorn either. I know what's missing from this puzzle. Georgia. :D I was sitting in the crew quarters watching the news on tv. Ben was getting supplies and told me that I'd have my ID number for clocking in by Thursday. I also found out that Tony from Hawthorn is actually the owner's son! Wow. And he was a nice guy as well.

I guess tomorrow's the last day I'll be at Hawthorn for work. It feels weird. I just can't explain it. I stopped by the post office after work to get a "Thank You" card for the staff at Hawthorn. Just a little something to show them my appreciation. Didn't know the bloody card cost me about $ 5! It will probably read like an Oscar thank-you list. There will be some names mentioned. Also got some empty envelopes. I think I'm going to leave Georgia a little note and see what happens after that!

My eyes are all bloodshot. I think due to the lack of sleep. And it's only 9.08 pm and I feel as though as I need rest. I had a nap after work earlier. Got me a card to compose after this, and a little short note/letter to write as well.

Guess this is it for tonight.

Day: 187 (Sunday, 23rd June 2002)
Status: End Week # 3
Days without PS2: 0 day(s)
Days without Cube: 0 day(s)
Listening to: P.Diddy (feat. Usher & Loon) - I Need A Girl
--------------------------------------------------------------------

I downloaded a couple of new songs last night after watching the videos a couple of times on tv. They were:

- P.Diddy (feat. Usher & Loon) - I Need A Girl
- 112 - Dance With Me

Listening to the lyrics of P.Diddy's song makes me wonder if he was singing about J.Lo. Also, I downloaded 112's song after watching the video of their new song "Peaches & Cream" which had a sample of "Dance With Me".

Weekends, really nothing much to talk about anymore. The past couple of Saturdays had almost the same routine. Get up in the afternoon, watch ALOT of tv. It's like a tv marathon on Saturday's for me since I don't get to watch much tv on other days. The program for Saturday's go something like this:

- Dark Angel
- Buffy The Vampire Slayer
- Angel

After that, I played some games on the PS2 and Cube. Must spend some time with my babies once in a while. It looks like there's not going to be much to talk about in this update. How boring!

Talked to KL on Friday night and he told me he went to watch "Gosford Park". I think Ryan Phillipe is in the movie. KL said it was good but its a British movie. It seems alot of concentration/listening is required. I think its one of those murder mysteries in a mansion, something like the board game "Cluedo". Sounds interesting, might rent it on DVD or something.

Read review of the game "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" for the Cube. Sounds pretty interesting. Uh oh.... now this doesn't sound too good. Where's my "Wish List"? I think its time to update it. Here's the old one followed by the updated version.

************************************************************
Wish List:
1) Nintendo GameCube (EDIT: Got it) - Resident Evil series (NEW! YES, I decided that I just don't want RE1, I want the whole series as a collection if possible. With the exception of RE 2 and RE3:Nemesis I have on pirated CDs, the rest are coming to the Cube and I WANT THEM ALL)
- Super Smash Brothers Melee (EDIT: Got it)
- Star Wars: Rogue Leader (maybe) (EDIT: Got it)
- WWF Wrestlemania X8 (maybe) - Legend Of Zelda (NEW!)
2) Final Fantasy X for PS2
3) New fragrance ( I have considered Davidoff "Cool Water" and Hugo "Dark Blue" before )
4) New wallet (possibly the Timberland Tri-fold wallet at Daimaru)
5) All Saints CD (can't remember the title - but its their last one with Pure Shores and Black Coffee)
6) $ 150 from DT (EDIT: Got it)
7) New watch - preferably a Tag Heuer Kirium F1(NEW!)

************************************************************
And here's the updated one.

************************************************************
Wish List ( 23rd June 2002):

1) - Resident Evil series (NEW! YES, I decided that I just don't want RE1, I want the whole series as a collection if possible. With the exception of RE 2 and RE3:Nemesis I have on pirated CDs, the rest are coming to the Cube and I WANT THEM ALL)
- WWF Wrestlemania X8 (EDIT: I decided that I don't want this anymore because it doesn't seem good)
- Legend Of Zelda
2) Final Fantasy X for PS2 (EDIT: Got it)
3) WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth for PS2 ( Might be getting this instead of Wrestlemania X8 for the Cube )
4) New fragrance ( I have considered Davidoff "Cool Water" and Hugo "Dark Blue" before )
5) New wallet (EDIT: Daimaru has their closing down sale now.possibly the Timberland Tri-fold wallet at Daimaru)
6) New watch - preferably a Tag Heuer Kirium F1(NEW!)

************************************************************

I have decided that I can forget about the CDs unless I really want to get them or can get them cheap. I can always download songs off the Net.

Woohoo. Just got a call from Wil Cordova, manager from Maccas Kew. He asked if I was available for work tomorrow morning. Of course I am. He said he would call me back after getting some things sorted out. He called me back and asked if I could work from 7.30 am - 4 pm. Why not? I have the time and that means extra money. Then he told me that I might be transferred over to Kew. And might be getting a full time or part time job and asked if it would suit me better. A chance for more money? Why not?

The only downside to all this, I won't be able to see Georgia anymore! NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Maybe I'll go visit her some day if I really won't have to go back there to work. Will have to see how it all goes. Maybe its just for tomorrow. The good and bad of it all.....

The pros: extra work = extra money, no more dick-head Will
The cons: have to sleep and wake up really early tonight, no more Georgia Virtue

On the other hand, maybe they'll work something out and I might be going to both branches so maybe all is not lost. Hrm, just above I was saying how short this post will be and then "WHAM!", a sudden turn of events.

I think this is enough for today. Too much excitement *sarcasm*

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Day: 185(Friday, 21st June 2002)
Status: End Week # 3
Days without PS2: 4 day(s)
Days without Cube: 12 day(s)
Listening to: Madison Avenue - Everything You Need
--------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a few days since the last update. Honestly, I haven't had the time for updates the past few days. I guess I owe a few day's worth of updates.

I remember arriving at work yesterday about 15 minutes before my shift was due to begin. Justine asked me if I wanted a toasted sandwich. I told her I already had lunch since it was about 2.45 pm at that time. She said ok and I went off to get changed. Later on, she offered me soup. Hrm. Again I declined politely and she made herself a cup of soup.

Speaking of soup, I bought a few boxes the other day. These are the soup-in-a-cup thinggies. Only 98 cents for a pack of 2. I got 2 boxes of Potato and Chives with Bacon Croutons and a box of Cream of Chicken. I've already finished a box of Potato soup. And I'd recommend it as a quick drink. Just pour the contents in a mug, add hot water and stir. Nothing easier than that. It's surprisingly tasty as well. The one I tried was anyway. Haven't tried the Cream of Chicken yet, which has noodles in it. I'd recommend it, look out for the "Continental" brand.

Back to yesterday. As far as I remember, nothing really interesting happened yesterday. Just a normal day at work. Oh, I did see Georgia with a stalk of flower. Can't remember what sort of flower it was and besides, I'm not a florist. I can tell certain flowers apart from the others but I would say it would be 10 species or less. And only by their common names and not the scientific names. She was talking about changing her shift with Tony. Or something. After that, she came over to my register and ordered a cheeseburger. She was still in uniform and I asked her if she was working and she said no. Did I mention she looked like Natalie Portman, only with blonde hair? Hrmm...doesn't matter.

I only worked 3 hours yesterday evening but I don't know why I felt tired. Quite unusual. I seem to be fine on other days. EVen today.

Today, worked longer hours but I don't feel as tired. Weird, can't explain it. Had to start at 11 am. Sadly, no offers for food from Justine today. Oh well, guess I can't complain. After I got changed, I met Tony who was attaching the tubes for the soft drink.( In case you want to know, the drinks are in huge packs which is connected to a valve inlet and run along a hose through a hole in the floor to the dispenser machine that you see at the counter. The things you learn eh? ). He told me about him speaking to the Kew people about transferring me over there for a full-time post. He didn't promise me anything and actually, don't really feel like going. But if its for a full time job, I guess money IS money. He told me next week's roster isn't good (and I've seen it). He also mentioned that the school holidays are coming and it won't be as busy. He mentioned that their earning are actually $ 10,000 less a week during the holidays. Wow. Just imagine how much money they make in a week.

I actually think most of the people here at Hawthorn are really, really nice. Except for Will of course. Speaking of him, I think he's actually lost money to another colleague because I think he bet that England would have won today's match against Brazil. In case you didn't know, Brazil won 2 - 1.

It seems that Justine doesn't seem to like Will (attitude problem-guy who shall be now known as Dick-Head, as referred to by Lisa). He wanted to grab something which was Justine's. He did shout out if it belonged to anyone, Justine replied, I caught a glance of her rolling her eyes. Hmmm...I've only been here 3 weeks and I don't like him already. I wonder what the rest had to put up with. Then sometime after that, Dick-Head was trying to explain something to me, then Justine came rushing over, asking what the problem was. Either my expression worried her, or she was being over-protective :þ I also noticed that she kept praising me. She had to take my drawer of cash to calculate the earnings, and she returned it later saying it was "PERFECT" and "good".
Wow...

Much much later, guess who comes up to my register again? YUP, GEORGIA. I was supposed to give her 20% discount since she wasn't working today, but I accidentally gave her 50% by accident. She noticed it and she was coaching me on what I was supposed to do, but she said, "Don't worry about it, it's ok". So I charged her 50% less. She was with a friend, ordered a whole lot of stuff and her friend's McChicken wasn't ready, so they had to wait. Too bad it was the after school rush. Too many damn kids, couldn't really talk to her. Only managed to find out she's working next week. I checked the roster after work and she happens to be working when I'm not. *SIGHS*.

Now, here's something for you to think about. It's something that I might have mentioned before as well. Of all the 3 or 4 counters opened to customers, why did Georgia keep coming back to mine? Someone said and some might think that I was flirting with her. Now answer me this, is she doing the same thing to me? Interesting, I'll see what happens next.

KA is going back to M'sia tomorrow. Then after a week, she's going off to Beijing as a representative for Uncle K's company. I actually have no idea what she's going to be there for. We had a mini farewell dinner with her earlier on. Went to a place called Boba Bubble Tea in Lygon Street. It's operated by a Singaporean family, specialising in Bubble Teas but the serve meals as well. I had a Ice Chocolate Latte with Pork Chop in mushroom and onion sauce with fried rice. If there was supposed to be any coffee in that Latte, I didn't taste it but it was good enough for me to order a 2nd cup. I wanted that as take-away but I couldn't wait and finished it there.

Next, we went to Melbourne Showground. Why? The other day while getting my socks, I stopped at Maccas for lunch and was browsing through the papers. There was a Levi's Sale there and when I got home, I told them all about it and they wanted to go have a look. So we did go there and guess what? Everyone ended up buying something. Yes, I told you. I have a hard time resisting.
I ended up buying 2 pairs of Levi's 515's (Super Loose) for $ 55 each. For $ 110, I think its a fantastic deal. Why? Because the same pair was selling for $ 102.95 at "Oarsome Jeans" the other day! One week's salary gone in 30 minutes. I actually went around the place for sometime ( it was in a warehouse ), didn't find anything suitable until the very last few minutes before closing time at 9pm.

The other thing I noticed when I got back home is that the current pair I have is the exact same one (with some frays at the heel and a little faded after the normal wear and tear). Now I have 3 pairs of the same jeans. I bought this pair from "Oarsome Jeans" last year, managed to get some discount. But now, 2 for 1! I'm happy that I didn't buy it the other day, but a little sad that I spent a week's pay in less than an hour. I guess if it's a bargain, it was worth it. Besides, these should last me a long time and, I can always work to get back the money?

"Resistance Is Futile" - The Borg from Star Trek

Guess this is all for now. It's 10.30 pm and I don't seem to have net-access. Typing this out in Notepad at the moment. A week's already gone by. Time flies. This is it for tonight. Happy Weekend.

Window shopping is Evil with a capital "E". It's even worse when you can't afford it. It tempts you like the devil. I almost loss the battle. Almost couldn't resist the temptation.

I decided to go out to get my socks earlier this afternoon. I've decided that I don't have enough socks for work. I stopped at Maccas for lunch. Wil ( another Wil, spelt with one "L" ) saw me, recognized me, greeted me. I did the same. Had lunch. Then after that, stopped by Bob Stewart ( a store that sells clothes ). I was checking out the socks. Most of the socks there seem to be branded. "Pussyfoot", anyone? Basically, I thought that I didn't need such expensive socks. $ 10 a pair. Well, the truth is, I don't think I can afford that expensive socks. I was looking for some 3-pack socks or something but they don't sell any. I decided to have a leisurely look around the store. No one came up to me to ask if I needed any assistance. That's good, don't like to feel pressured.

Had a look at some leather shoes. I was just planning ahead, checking out the prices in case I really need to replace my current pair. Saw this really huge pair of of Dr. Martens which was $ 189.95! These shoes can really give a good ass kicking if there was ever a need. The way I see it, if I do get it, I could use it for work as well as for casual wear. I think it would be $ 189.95 well spent. Most of my shoes last me years. Anyway, that was Mistake # 1.

Walked on over next door to Oarsome Jeans, a place that sells urm... jeans and other denim and clothing more for the young adults/late teens. Bob Stewart was more for working adults with jackets and blazers, suits etc. I saw a few pair of Levi's jeans. Very tempting. Mistake # 2. The sales lady asked me if I was alright. I said I was just looking, they have the loose and super loose jeans there. OK, I know where to look the next time if I need to get a pair. Wonder if they'll sell out? After browsing around abit, I left for Safeway.

Had to get some groceries. Managed to get my 3-pack socks for about $ 10. Now this is more affordable. Got some stuff for my weekly groceries then I was out of there. It was quite cold. Winter's here I suppose. Walked past Oarsome Jeans again. Then, I stopped. I wanted to turn around and go back into the store. Was *thisclose* to going in and trying on the pair of jeans. It was like a tug-of-war with myself. I was standing outside the Bob Stewart window for about 5 minutes, deciding if I should go in and try the jeans. What if I try it and I want to buy it? What if there's a sale later on? I was worried I might regret my purchase. It's not like I really needed another pair of jeans. However, I think my wardrobe can use a few additions.

5 minutes later, I fought off the demons and proceeded on home. I've triumphed. I resisted the temptation to make an impulse purchase. I normally lose battles like these. The "Dark Side" has lost today. But I know, they want me. They will try their hardest to make me succumb. One day, I'll go past that store again and the "Dark Side" will tempt me to enter again. I'll take it a day at a time then.

Tony called me about 30 mins to an hour ago. I actually heard a girl shouting " Hi Roy! " in the background. It turned out it was Justine, the shift manager. Asked me if I could go to work earlier tomorrow. Everything is fine with me. I was expecting more shifts. Not the case it seems. I also found out why I only have 1 shift next week. It's because they are sending a guy from the Kew Branch over to Hawthorn. I saw him the other day and overheard Shannon or Tony ask him if he was getting a feel of the place. I saw this guy today, always thought he was Indonesian or something because he had dark skin. Long hair, up to the middle of his back I suppose. Today, he served me, saw that his name tag said " O' Neal ". So this is going to be my new colleague at Hawthorn? It's actually because of him that next week's roster is "shitty", according to Tony. He's a full time staff and Shannon had to someone make time for him. Tony said he talked to Maccas Kew about giving me some extra shifts or transferring me over to Kew as a full timer since O'Neal was coming to Hawthorn. Will just have to see how things work out later on. Tony promised that he'll try to work something out.

Oh no, I just realised that if I was transferred to Kew, I won't get to see Georgia anymore! Horror of horrors Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Noticed that the work atmosphere is kinda casual. For example the language used at times. Just that conversation with Tony earlier, he said " next week's roster is fucked " and " the shifts are shitty for next week ". Hrm, not that I mind. It's just something I noticed.

I've still yet to watch the RAW that I taped last night. Maybe later. Wanted to watch it when I woke up this morning but I somehow went back to sleep.

I also received a call earlier from some Real Estate Agent. I actually registered sometime ago for more information about the Riverside Apartments that are under construction in the city. I didn't expect that they would personally give me a call to ask if I was still interested to purchase a unit. I guess they're trying to get more buyers. Read in the papers that the real estate boom is at the end of its 12 year cycle or something. Property prices are going down, real estate agents are trying to woo people by offering freebies when they sign contracts for lease. Who needs X cups of free coffee when you rent a place anyway?! Looks like they'll try to do anything to get more people. Basically, what I read is that there are too many empty units and not enough people renting. So the simple rule of economics goes like this:

High Supply + Low Demand = Lower Prices

I asked the lady if there was a launch for the unit or something and she said that it won't be for another 3 - 4 months. She asked me if I was interested in purchasing a unit. I said I signed up just mainly out of interest. Of course I won't be able to afford a unit now, but she doesn't know that. She just seemed so determine to answer "yes" to her question. Sorry lady, call me when I have more money. :þ

OK, enough for today I guess. Nothing really much of interest left to write about.

Oh yes, there is. I have this mother of a pimple on my left cheek. I am so tempted to squeeze it. Yuck. Why am I telling you this? It just looks hideous and it hurts dammit. And I have to go to work tomorrow. * Sighs *. Thank god Georgia won't be around to see it! :þ

Did you know its required by law to have a break if you work more than 5 hours consecutively? Maybe at establishments such as my current workplace. Sure as hell never heard of it before. How did this come about? I had to go to work earlier than usual today. For the past 2 weeks, my shifts had always begun at 12 pm. Not today. I had to start at 11 am this morning. When it was time for my scheduled break, I asked Dora, what if I don't take a break. She started calculating then told me that it is required by law. I guess the breaks are there for a reason then. Spent about 15 minutes in the crew quarters watching "Chicago Hope" and drinking water.

I guess there's nothing much to talk about. It's more or less the same routine everyday now. Except for the fact that the boss came in to give a helping hand, and this other guy was there too. No idea who they were, but dressed in business shirts and helping out with assembling orders. New management perhaps?

OK, got the boring bits out of the way, save the best for last. Today, I'll be talking about Georgia again. *girns*

I actually told the other day's incident about the chocolate sundae to BL, a new friend/potential customer for some of my comic collection. He accused me of being a flirt! How could he? Here's what he said when I talked to him online:

BL: farker / bastard (it was either one, just don't know which)....you flirt!

But I think he meant it in a good way. So what interesting news have I got about Georgia to entertain all of you today?
Here's something for start, guess what her surname is? How did I find out? I was looking through the pay-slips, looking to see if my latest one was there. Also was looking out for Georgia's name. * Why am I so obsessed with this girl? * Then I found one slip with the name "Georgia" on it. I'm thinking its the same person. I think if I gave you an infinite number of guesses, you still won't be able to get it. So I'll save you the hassle. Her name is Georgia Virtue. Yes, I had that same expression on my face when I saw it * whatever look you have on your face now, frown of surprise etc.* Seriously people, would you have ever guessed there was such a surname? It sounds so....goody-two shoes? Virtue...Virtuous. Well, well, well. I just looked up www.dictionary.com and this is what I got from the word "virtue".

vir·tue Pronunciation Key (vûrchoo)
n.

- Moral excellence and righteousness; goodness.
- An example or kind of moral excellence: the virtue of patience.
- Chastity, especially in a woman.
- A particularly efficacious, good, or beneficial quality; advantage: a plan with the virtue of being practical.
- Effective force or power: believed in the virtue of prayer.
- virtues Christianity. The fifth of the nine orders of angels in medieval angelology.
- Obsolete. Manly courage; valor.

I had to finish my shift at 4.30 pm today. I was busy serving customers, I didn't notice her coming in. Sure didn't notice her going up to get changed and coming down for work. To be honest, I don't even know when she works. * I did however take a peek at this week's roster and she's supposed to work Monday - Wednesday. Damn it, today's the only day I get to see her this week. * I just realised something on why I am so obsessed with this girl. I think, she looks a little like a blonder Natalie Portman. Well, that's just a real generalisation. Don't take my word for it 100%.

So anyway, I only realised she was there when I finished serving my customers. I saw her coming up and she asked me what time I got off work. I said 4.30 pm. I don't know why, but I asked her some really stupid ( obvious, actually ) question like, " Does your shift start now? ". Here's how the conversation went:

GV: Hi * smiles *, what time do you finish?
Me: Hi * smiles and looks at wall clock *, I'm supposed to finish at 4.30 pm.
GV: Oh I see * smiles *. You're going off in awhile then. Alright, I'll back-you up.
Me: Yeah, I'm going off soon.

Now, the definition of "back-up" is helping out a fellow crew member by assembling an order. So why do I mention this? Because she didn't have to back me up. Because there were other registers opened. Because there was another girl there on duty.

So, the reasons because she's helping me:

a) She's nice ( her surname is Virtue, remember? *winks* )

b) I'm new, she thought that I needed help ( OK, this one's a long shot. Even the owner told me to get rid of my "Hi, I'm training" name tag today. He said " You're way past that ". How's that for a morale booster, eh? Getting praised by the Boss himself.)

c) She likes me? ( * hahahaha * this one's another long shot. But then again, add 1 + 1 and what do you get? Remember the chocolate sundae? :þ Let me dream, I don't want to wake up yet.)

So anyway, after that, more people started coming in, she had to handle her own counter. Shannon shouted out at me from the dining area and pointing to his watch, reminding me that my shift was over. OK, time to go. Went up, got changed, came back downstairs. Had an early dinner again. Today, I ordered a Tandoori Chicken burger with extra sauce, a cheeseburger, a large coke and a chocolate super sundae again. I just had to find out if she would give me extra chocolate. I just had to!

Conclusion? Yes, there seemed to be alot of chocolate, but not as much as the other day. Bummer. Could it be that Justine was the one who made the sundae, or maybe she reminded Georgia not to put too much chocolate.

Who's Justine? I don't know if I mentioned her the other day. I met her one day in the crew quarters. She was sitting on the chair, having a rest or something. I was rushing that day so I didn't get to chat with her. But she had this to say to me:

Justine: I heard that you're doing really well.

I was surprised the other day why and how she heard about it. I thought she was just a normal crew staff. Today, I saw her again, in uniform. No wonder she heard so much about me. She had a name tag that read " Shift Manager ". When I was placing my order, she came up next to Georgia and spoke to me.

Justine: Hi Roy, when are working again?
Me: Ooh...* thinking hard *... Thursday.
Justine: Oh, that means I won't be able to see you tomorrow. ( ehh?? )
Me: Yeah, I actually asked for more shifts. Applied for a full time job but got part time instead.
Justine" Is that so? Hrm, well, if we get any unwanted shifts, I'll give you a call.
Me: Great. Thanks * smiles *
Georgia: Roy, go have a seat, I'll bring you your tandoori burger in awhile.
Me: Sure, thanks * smiles *

So, I took my drink, sundae and cheeseburger, got myself a seat, finished my burger, had half of my sundae and drink while watching Georgia at work.* Damn it, I'm turning into some perverted stalker. Did I mention that I saw a packet of Ribena in her bag while I was there in the changing room? She likes Ribena. Shit, I AM turning into a stalker! *. Anyway, Georgia personally brought me the tandoori burger with a big smile. She has a beautiful smile. Yes, she does.

Well, after dinner, came home. Here I am. That was 3 - 4 hours ago.

Oh, how could I forget. It's ML's birthday today! DT told me just now when I was out in the hall. Wanted to watch WWE RAW but DT is having tuition. Some last minute revision for tomorrow's paper I supposed. Managed to tape it. Might watch it later or something.Didn't know he had tuition tonight. Just when I sat down to get comfy on the couch. He asked me how come I slept early last night. I planned to sleep early last night but I just couldn't. I heard DT shouting to KA and KE to tell them its time to cut the cake. I actually heard them arguing over who should come and check if I was still awake. They gave up in the end becase they thought I was sleeping. KE just told them that I had to work today, that's why I'm off to bed early. Unknown to them, I was awake and heard almost every sentence they said. I heard them, damn they talk loud. But I pretended to be asleep, since my lights were off anyway. No reason for me to wake up and go cut a cake with them when I was supposed to be asleep, is there?

What else is new, BY is coming next month. Sudden news indeed. He's going to Deaking Uni. Guess I'll be seeing more of him next month onwards then.

Urghh...bored. Wasn't it better if I just kept talking about Georgia? * winks * I think this is all for tonight. Hope you've enjoyed reading :D

"Just because we don't see it, it doesn't mean it isn't there."

I was ironing of some of my clothes. Then I started thinking about some stuff. Some of you might know that I'm pretty emotional for a guy. I can't help it. I was thinking about the chat I had with BL earlier on. Then I starting thinking about my present place, here in life, what I've achieved, lessons learnt. I know, I know, a little philosophical. But bear with me. Father's Day has just gone by. This one is not just dedicated to our fathers, but both our parents. I think they deserve it.

I'll go ahead and admit I have some sort of communication problem with people that involves feelings. Maybe that's the purpose of this journal. I just give input, nothing comes out of it. No comments, no one talks back. I can say anything I want, anytime I want. My parents might not read this, they might not know about it.

I remember when I was young, I was spoilt being the only child at the time. I remember this incident like it was just yesterday. I must have been about 2 or 3 years old. We were staying in Johor at that time. Big house, double storey bungalow, near the beach. I remember once I had a bad dream. I was in kindergarten and all my classmates had watches. They were all showing off their watches to me. It was like I was being bullied. I was the only one who didn't have a watch. I remember waking up crying my eyes out. My parents asked me what happened, did I have a bad dream. I told them I dreamt that I didn't have a watch. And it was true, I didn't have a watch at that time. The next day was probably a weekend. Like most weekends, dad would drive down to Singapore so that we could get some shopping done, be it for groceries or just a weekend outing. That day, I remember getting my very first watch. I was the happiest boy in the world. If memory serves, it was one of those kiddy digital watches with really pastel, light green plastic straps and body.

Even when I was older, I suppose I was still being spoilt. Expensive birthday parties at places like McDonald's or KFC or A&W. The presents that I used to demand. I don't know if any of you think I'm still spoilt. Here are some of the presents I demanded.

- Transformers Optimus Prime action figure. (Cost: RM 89.90)
- StarCom AirMax Bomber (Cost: RM 59.90)
- Voltron Lion Die-cast metal set (Cost: RM 69.90)

And the mother of all toys a kid could have at that age:

- A Red, Nikko Remote control Car (Cost: RM 500.00 or so,I can't remember) *This was a proper remote control car, which uses 8 AA sized batteries plus a rechargeable battery pack and a further 6 AA batteries for the remote. The thing was probably as long as your standard sized keyboard.*

They had to tempt me with material things to get me to do well in exams. It was a good tactic, all the way until when I was in Form 3 or something because my results went downhill from then on.

- 8-Bit Aaronix Home console (Cost: RM 299.00) * This one's from Daya in SS2 when it still existed for a birthday present *
- 16-Bit Sega Megadrive Home console (Cost: RM 500 or more) * This one's for getting 4 A's for the UPSR exams *
- 16-Bit Nintendo Super Famicom Home console (Cost: RM 500 or more) * This one's just for doing well in some end of year exam *

You have to admit they were pretty expensive kid's toys. I wanted them, and I got them all. Although I think the R/C car was a surprise, I can't remember about that one. How spoilt I was.

As I grew older, I realised that dad doesn't spend as much time as he used to. I remember mum taking me to meet dad for lunch when he was at work. We would always have set lunch at this place, just near dad's office. Just the 3 of us. I remember always wanting to butter my own rolls. As time went on, I realised that I don't spend as much time with my dad as before. Of course later on, my sister was born as well.

In my late teens, I went through what everyone probably has. We all had our issues with our parents. Arguments, fights, scolding and nagging. I'll accept that as a fact of life.

Today, I'll admit that I didn't appreciate my dad for what he was. I never acknowledged the positive things that he has done for me and the rest of his children. I always focused on the negative. I always wanted more. I wanted this and that. I guess I still had that spoilt brat in me. I never threw tantrums when I never got what I wanted. I just kept it to myself, thinking how unfair it was.

Something happened one day, it must have been about 2 or 3 years ago. It happened on Father's Day. I talked to my dad, like I never talked to him before. It was the longest conversation I ever had with him in my whole life. EVER. I poured out my heart's contents. I wanted to put the blame on everything else when some things were within my control. I couldn't admit the truth knowing the truth would have been disappointing. It was also part of the pressure I was under, being under constant pressure to always doing my best. I just exploded at that time. I think my dad was shocked to see me acting the way I did. Then he said some words to me, something I've heard for the first time, coming from him. He said: -

"Just because I never told all of you that I love you, doesn't mean that I don't. I have to work hard to provide you with a house to stay in, food to eat, clothes to wear."

It hit me like a tonne of bricks. Here I was, being angry, making excuses for myself. I never saw it from their point of view. I guess some of us won't understand until we're actually in our parents' shoes.

The events that have unfolded the past couple of months make me realise this so much more. More than before. What I realise is how much we take our parents for granted. We think we can depend on them whenever to going gets tough. We always think we have them as a "safety cushion" to fall back on. I know because I was one of these people.

"We try to give you everything you want."

We never really appreciate them for the things they do for us. I was one of them too. My parents got us the best that they could. Somehow I never thought it was enough. Always desired better things. Always wanted better, bigger, more expensive material things.

Now I realise how hard is it to provide for a family. I'm already having trouble providing for myself and still need the help of my parents. I wouldn't have realised this if I never was in this situation. Jie Jie AL said something to me in her email which was something like:

"Going through hardship at a young age makes one stronger"

I think she's right.

Maybe I'm like my dad now. Maybe its something that we feel that should be left unspoken. Maybe it's understood. Maybe it's assumed that it's understood. After all,

"Action speaks louder than words".

So here's something I have to say. Maybe they won't get to read this, maybe someone else will tell them for me. Maybe my sisters will print this out and give it to them to read. Anyway, here's what I have to say:

"For as long as I can remember, I've never said these words, but just because I don't say it or show it in any way, it doesn't mean that I don't love you. I'm sorry if I had ever been a disappointment and never lived up to your expectations. I've tried the best that I could and now I know that you have too."

Also for my friends who are reading this, the same thing applies for all of you. Just because I don't tell you that I care, it doesn't mean that I don't.

Phew...I think this is one of the hardest journal entries I ever had to write. I hope someone will read it, benefit from it, learn from it.

I think I've grown up (somewhat) from this experience that I've gone through. It's about time that I did. Read and learn, maybe you will too.

Listening to: Erick Sermon (feat. Marvin Gaye) - Music
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, this song above, really catchy. Not sure how old it is but it uses samples from an old song by Marvin Gaye. Managed to catch the video on STC the other day. Decided to download it along with a few other songs, both new and fairly recent. Here's a list of what I got:

- Erick Sermon (feat. Marvin Gaye) - Music
- Eric Clapton - Blue Eyes Blue
- Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight
- Travis - Sing
- Incubus - Summer Love

Yup, I think that's it for now. Thanks to Brendon Leong who's supplied me with an IRC channel to download songs. In case you want to go download songs, try this channel on the Dalnet server, #mp3zcable

You want instructions? Damn I wish I had some when I started. It's been more than a year since I used IRC to download songs. I remember I used to use IRC to download songs back home. Here's what you have to do:

To search/locate a song, type:
@find "artist and/or - title"
@locate "artist and/or - title"

To start downloading, you'll get lots of PMs (Private messages) from all the people who have the song. So for example, Song_Freak sends you a pm which looks like this:

!Song_Freak Third Eye Blind - Deep Inside Of You.mp3

Sometimes you get extra information like, size of the song in Megabytes (MB) and etc. Get it? Good. All you have to do next is to paste everything from that ( ! ) up to the end of the file name (.mp3) into the main and just wait. How long you get served depends on something called a "queue". Yes, just like in real life. First come first serve (FCFS) or what we learnt in Financial Management, First In First Out (FIFO). This application is used at where I work too now.

Other than that, there's nothing much new to talk about. Nothing much happening except that there was a mild earthquake in Tasmania a few days ago. Yes there was. I didn't realise there were earthquakes in Australia.

Other groundbreaking news: Stone Cold Steve Austin of the WWE has been fired because he did not turn up for work last Tuesday night. It seems that he was not happy of what the writers of the show have planned for him. This is the 2nd time that he did this, previously was after Wrestlemania X8 when he took leave without the company's approval. Interesting. Also I read articles that he assaulted his wife, Debra. Not only that, a further article reported that he was already arrested and sentenced to 3 years in jail. Will have to wait and see what other news I can dig up. Or watch RAW tomorrow and see what's going on.

Got a letter from American Express today which came with an application for their new card called "Blue". Quite a nice little thing, transarent with some blue colour in the middle and it has a sim card on it. No annual card fee too. Interesting. Since its free...should I? Tempting, no? Will be tempted to spend too! Better not, I think.

I need to re-arrange my cupboard, its a mess. Might need to get some socks for work as well. I noticed holes in one pair, leaving about one other pair which is still in useable condition. The other one's I got here seem to be tearing at the heel. I guess they were meant to be worn with boots or something. It's also a little uncomfortable when wearing it with my leather shoes. Don't know why. Might reserve those for sleepwear now I suppose. Come to think of it, my shoes are starting to rip at the heel cushion too. It's served its purpose for about 2 - 3 years. Might be time to get new ones. Will see when I can afford a new pair of shoes with dual-functionality, for work and for going out. Hrmm...budgeting sucks! Maybe I'll wear this pair until the soles wear out or starts to drop off or something :þ

I don't remember mentioning something about a sight I saw the other day. I was on the way to the city, I was somewhere near Flinders Street and there are some parks on the right side of the road. The grass was green, and there were yellow leaves all over the ground so it was like a sea yellow with patches of green here and there. Or should it be a sea of green with patches of yellow? Whatever. The wind was blowing, and leaves were flying about. It was a beautiful sight. Makes me regret for not having a camera with me at the time. Wish I had a digital camera. This site could do with some pictures as well, couldn't it? Like I said previously, donations are most welcome! :D

Nothing interesting on tv tonight I think. Might hit the sack early, got to work earlier than usual tomorrow. That means got to get up early. Ah, now I remember I have clothes in the dryer. Have to iron some clothes. My uniform. Urghh...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aaah, the weekend is here. What a week it has been. Like I said a couple of posts ago, time really flies. 2 weeks into my job, enjoying it somewhat. Meeting new colleagues quite regularly. Today, I met the girl with the eye-brow ring, she was called Emin. I asked Lisa what her name was, she just said "Think Eminem. Emin". OK, Emin it is.

Lisa was telling me today that she doesn't like Will (attitude problem guy). I guess alot of people don't. She called him a "dickhead". She even complaint about him to Shannon, while he was there. I wonder if he heard. Even Dora doesn't like him. And the people at the back tease him alot. Hrmmm... I sense a disturbance in the "Force". Well, let's just say there seems to be some tension.

From the looks of things, I suppose tonight's update will be nothing but about work. Oooh...how exciting. But no worries, I've always got something up my sleeve to surprise all of you, don't I? *winks* So if I have nothing to go on ... should I start with the interesting bits for today?

*GEORGIA*

Yes, Georgia. She's got a big role in today's storyline. Yes indeed. *grins* Where shall I begin? Let's see....I think I should re-cap. Some of you might not remember who Georgia is. Georgia is that pretty girl who erm....came up and introduced herself to me one day, and she was the one who was at my register to order, calling me by my name. Does that ring a bell? Otherwise, just scroll down. It should be in one of the recent updates, or just dig up in the archives!

OK, so today, Georgia's shift started about 4.30 pm. I guess she was early. I was done with my tasks for the day and Shannon allowed me to clock off. Whoopee...weekend, here I come! Anyway, I didn't notice Georgia earlier and as I was clocking out and was about to leave to change, I saw her. Talked to her a little while, she asked me how long I've been working, I asked the same etc. Yadda yadda yadda. Not important what we talked about. More interesting stuff to come. So I went up to get changed out of my uniform. Did I tell you I got a visor, a clip-on tie, a belt, and a stripe shirt? Of all things...a fucking striped shirt. Thank god they are vertical stripes. Horizontal stripes make people look fat you see... :D

I decided to have an early dinner. Got changed, came down. Saw a crowd of people. And what did I do next? I queued in the line that was forming at Georgia's register. Why? I'm playing games. And guess what? I benefitted from it as well. Here's what happened....

There were about 5 other people in front of me. It was probably the longest line there. Still it didn't matter. Georgia actually didn't notice I was in line until it was my turn to be served. Her face just lighted up as she smiled when she saw me. Wow, I have that sort of effect on her :þ Still, she is a pretty girl. And where am I going with this? She must've been really concentrating before that. Which brings me to a couple of points. Why was the queue long? Reason: She does things slow. Why do I say that? When it was my turn, 2 idiots kept talking about how slow the queue was moving etc. I should have turned around and punched them in their faces, let them spit Chiclets. *Ryan would be happy and amused reading this*. How dare they say that about MY Georgia! :þ

So, I ordered a Large Tandoori Chicken burger (with extra yoghurt mint sauce) meal and a chocolate super sundae. I watched Georgia as she went round assembling my order and she really did move slow. Maybe it was during the quiet hours of the day, not that many people to serve. Complete opposite of me. During my shift, it's like going to war. It's like playing Rugby/American Football. Lots of pushing and shoving, in a friendly manner of course. Except for Will....hrmmm... wait. This is about GEORGIA, not WILL.G.E.O.R.G.I.A. As I ordered Tandoori Burger with extra sauce, I had to wait. It was expected, even more so because I ordered extra sauce. The total would have been $ 9.80 (Tandoori burger being $ 4.75 on its own) but the benefits of being a staff, I paid a little under $ 5 for the meal. Georgia said I would have to wait and she would bring me the burger. Sure. Of course.

So where's the interesting bit you ask? Have I cheated you x number of minutes of your life for reading up thus far? Of course not. The interesting bit is with the Chocolate Super Sundae. What the fuck you say? Calm down, don't get your knickers in a twist. Here's why its so interesting. Have you ever had a Chocolate Sundae at McDonald's and complained that there's too little hot fudge/chocolate topping? I don't remember Malaysia having the Super Size Chocolate Sundae which has hot fudge at the bottom of the cup, ice cream and then more hot fudge to top it off. Sounds yummy? Indeed.

Anyway, back to my sundae. I could swear that if you took away the ice cream, half of the cup would be filled with the hot fudge. I kid you not! Translation? Georgia put in lots of extra hot fudge for me. What does that mean? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Do you get what I'm trying to imply? Should I leave this open ended to let all of you make your own assumptions? Want to know what I think? I'll chat with you online when I have the chance to then? :þ

What I think is that Georgia ____________!

Let's have some fun. I'll leave it at that. Let me live in my own Fantasy world for awhile alright? Let me be on Cloud 9 for abit. One day, I'll come crashing back down to Earth.

I think I've had enough for tonight. Need to control my online time. More soon.

Woo hoo.... just checked my bank balance online and I've already received last week's pay. I guess it's on a weekly basis then. I didn't ask about it before. Here's how it appears in the online bank statement:

11/06/2002 HIGOAL PTY LTD PAY WEEK 090602 CREDIT: $136.18

My first pay cheque, EVER.

Still, it isn't very noticeable because I have already transferred a total of $ 561 for this month's rent and last month's Internet bill. Oh, the Toys R Us transaction isn't even in there yet. Bye bye FIRST EVER pay cheque. :(

How will I console myself? How about this....

"Money comes and goes. Money is to be spent. Money lost/used can be gained again."

Ooooh, I feel so much better already.

Enough of crap. Should stop so many updates in one night.

I can't believe how I could forget something like this! I deserved to be slapped many times!

How could I not include this in my earlier update?!

Talked to JS about 1/2 an hour ago, after many many months. She seems to be busy with work. She seldom e-mails anymore. Occassionally does. Talked to her for a few minutes before she had to rush off for some briefing. Managed to get her handphone number, which according to her, has not changed. Guess I'll give her a call some time when I'm feeling rich.

Aaaah...JS. What can I say? Better not say anything, except that she's really nice to me. :D

How am I going to get through the night?!

Ah bugger, the lights are off upstairs. Don't want to disturb ML in the room.

Guess I'll have to stay online and/or listen to music. How nice.

The days just seem to fly by so quickly. I guess that's what happens when one has something to do.

Met up with KL yesterday. We made arrangements to meet online, the night before. We agreed that we would meet up for lunch. I was awakened early that morning around 3 am because of hunger. Got up to make some toast, might have had abit of gastric pains as well so I had to take some milk. DT was still awake at that time, watching DVDs. He'd just recently purchased the season # 5 of the X-Files tv series. His so-called collection. Cost him AUS $ 300 or so because it was imported Region 1 (USA version) discs. Since I was eating, I sat there and watched a couple of episodes with him as well. It must've been about 5 am when I went to sleep.

Surprisingly I was able to wake up early. Got ready and called KL to tell him I was on the way. We decided to have lunch at the food court at Collin's Street. It was the 2nd time I've been to the foodcourt but I have been to that place before, with PF the last time when she was looking for some shop. I had a large Burrito meal with an order of seasoned wedges. The beef burrito reminds me of the topping of A & W's Coney Dogs, while the seasoned wedges reminds me of the Mojos from Shakey's Pizza back home. Uh oh...what is going on? Am I getting homesick? Now that I think about it, I don't remember ever seeing a Shakey's or an A & W's here in Melbourne.

We went off to Toys R Us to collect my FFX game after lunch. What a pity, Cute Girl # 1 and # 2 were not there. KL had to stop at the Post Office to pay some bills. Followed him to Pulsar because he wanted to rent some PC games. Then he needed to buy some stuff from Coles. I followed him back and as soon as we got back to his apartment, it started raining! Stayed indoors for about 2 hours I suppose. Decided to go have dinner but had to wait for the rain to subside. We ended up at this Thai place called Chilli Cafe.
He had the Thai Fried Rice with chicken and I ordered Satay Chicken with Rice. OK, another reference to home. Satay...how I miss that. The drizzle had already stopped after dinner, it was time to go home.

Didn't get a chance to test out my new game until this morning after breakfast. Had to rush off to get ready for work anyway. Work was good, although I kept bumping into Will (attitude problem guy). I think he almost tripped over my shoes a couple of times. It's not my fault I have big feet made even bigger with clunky shoes! Another time, I think he bumped into me and accidentally got some ice cream on his hand. I heard the "tsk" sound from him, but I didn't bother. I don't think its just me who's got bad things to say about this kid. The others seem to complain about him as well.

I managed to get that female crew trainer's name right, the one who kept saying nice things about me. Her name IS Lisa. Had a little chat with her just before I started my shift. Actually it was just a couple of sentences. Couldn't stay on longer because customers were already forming queues. I also managed to serve Georgia today. She was at my counter with 2 of her friends, and she remembers my name... she even said " Hi Roy, remember me? I work here. " before she placed her order. It actually took me some time to actually recognize her, but I managed to get her name right so its all good :D

Dallas came on to work about quarter past 4 pm with another new girl I don't remember seeing before, Lauren. Another tall and blonde girl, also quite pretty. I bet there are envious guys there reading this now? :þ

Managed to get my roster for next week, different time but I calculated and there hasn't been any extra working hours. It'll have to do I suppose.

18th June - 11.00 am - 2.00 pm, 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm
20th June - 4.30 pm - 7.30 pm (first time I've ever had to work this late in the evening)
21st June - 11.00 am - 2.30 pm, 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm

Looking at next week's roster just validates my thoughts earlier, which is how fast time passes. It's already middle of June. Already middle of the year. Where has all the time went?

I guess this is all for tonight. DT is having Java tuition outside. Guess I'll settle for some Star Wars: Galactic Battleground on the pc. Oh shit. Just remembered that DT took the discs back. Think I'll have to go upstairs to get them.

Here I am again, just as I promised. Now, what do I have to talk about today. It's my 2nd week of work. It's all good I think. Today, I packed all my stuff into my duffel bag, like I was going to the gym. In fact, this was the same bag I used to lug with me when I went to the gym back home. I don't know why I decided to bring my uniform and shoes in my bag and get changed there. Maybe wearing casuals while travelling to work was more comfortable. Well, not maybe, but definitely was.

Let's rewind abit back to this morning. I was having my breakfast before my shower, watching abit of "Melrose Place" on tv, when I got a call. I thought it was from someone at work. A number was flashing but I had no idea who it was. So much for caller ID. I answered and it was a girl at the other end with a chirpy voice. So early in the morning and so chirpy! I then found out that it was Marie from Toys R Us and she told me that my reserved copy of Final Fantasy X has arrived. Oh. YAY.

Regular readers will have known that I actually wanted to get this game some time back but I didn't. It's not that I didn't want it but it was because I postponed the purchase of the game, especially since I bought the GameCube with games. Now, some of you might even recall that when I went to get Super Smash Brothers Melee at the end of May, I discovered that FFX was sold out. If you don't remember, lemme refresh your memory by just mentioning this, Cute Girl # 1 and Cute Girl # 2. Does that ring a bell? Well it doesn't matter if you recall or not. The point I was trying to make is that it sold out because it was $ 10 cheaper than all other stores. This is a good reason to get it, isn't it?

Anyway, I asked Marie how long will she be able to keep it for me and she said "until you come pick it up." So I told her I'll be there tomorrow to get it and Marie offered to keep it until Friday "in case you can't pick it up tomorrow." Now, it wouldn't be nice to order something I don't collect, now would it? Besides, I might get to see Cute Girl # 1 and # 2 again tomorrow. Made plans to meet KL for lunch around 1 pm. Then we'll be going to Toys R Us together. YAY!

OK, now fast forward back to when I was at work. Met a couple of new colleagues today. There was a girl, I think her name was Lisa and she's a crew trainer. She was helping me get used to my work. I'm sorry I forgot her name because she said so many nice things about me (my job performance actually) to Tony. She said that I do things that some people who've been working for 6 months don't do. I was helping her clean up the mess she made at the sundae counter where she spilt hot chocolate fudge. She said that I even do things better than Will (attitude problem guy). Tony then mentioned that I even do things better than Dora (the female manager).

Then I also met Grace, the only other Asian thus far. Managed to talk to her during my break and found out she was Korean. She's still in high school, Year 10 if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, she was pretty helpful. Helping me to get stuff like cup lids and filling up french fry packets when I needed it. It's only natural that I help her in return right? Which I did of course.

Before I clocked off for the day, this blonde chick comes up to me and says hi. I got her name, which was Georgia. Managed to shake her hand. Pretty blonde girl. Too bad I couldn't stay to chat. :þ Some other time I guess.

Went upstairs to the crew quarters, got changed, searched through a stack of payslips. Didn't see mine, Shannon came up, talked to him abit. He told me the latest ones were on top. I said I couldn't find mine, he said something I couldn't hear. I looked again and I found my payslip! And what's this? I'm not paid for the first day of training?! Went down again after getting changed and putting on my shoes. I saw Lisa at the counter talking to Tony, I did some hand signals pointing at Tony and she said it was alright, I could go talk to him. I asked him about not getting paid on the first Monday I was there, he told me to see Shannon who was in the office. Fine. Talked to Shannon, he made a note and said it will be on the next pay-slip. Everything settled. Stopped by Coles to get a deodorant spray then went off home. Saw Grace (the Korean girl) in the tram towards the end of the trip, then saw her at the Cotham Road stop. She said she stays nearby as well. Said I'll see her some other time and off I went. Reached home for some rest. Had dinner around 8.15 pm. Watched RAW, didn't watch "Felicity" this week again.

And, finally here I am again, keeping my promise. Since we're talking about promises, I might as well tell you now. I won't make promises unless I am sure that I won't break them. So there.

I think this is enough for tonight. More to come, as they come.

SHIT! This is the 2nd time I had to write this update. All because I installed a game, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and it automatically restarted when it had finished installing! SHIT!

Not really in the mood to retype everything that I typed earlier so I'll just give you some of it.

If you're waiting for the continuation of the story, here's a summary. I called AL 1 hour after the first call like I promised but no answers. I tried a total of 3 times until about 11.45 pm and thought that it was too late, either they had gone out or they were already asleep. I tried calling the next evening but no one answered the phone again. Haven't attempted to call since then. Maybe some other time. THE END....for now.

Went to watch "Spider-Man" last night. Before that, we had dinner at a place called Carlton Curry House. Heard about the place many times before but it was the first time I've been there. I was expecting some fancy place with lots of Indian deco, and perhaps waiters in vests wearing turbans with a jewel at the centre of the forehead but it turned out to be a really simple place with minimal deco. Just some paintings and pictures hanging on the walls. In fact, the owner isn't even Indian but he's from Fiji!

What's so special about this place? Their curries are the speciality. They have 13 levels of spiciness, as they call it. They have mild curry/vindaloo followed by level # 1 right up to level # 13. Customers who manage to finish level # 13 get their photo taken and placed on the wall behind the cash register. Each additional level costs $ 0.50 extra. I just had a beef samosa (curry puff with spiced meat) followed by the normal Tandoori chicken and yoghurt sauce with saffron rice. DT,ML and P had level # 1 and mild fish curry respectively. DT and friends have tried level # 3 before and the end result is that they can't talk after that. Some of them sweat buckets. You know the usual, sweat and watery noses.

After settling the bill, it was off to Crown for the movie. "Spider-Man" was pretty enjoyable. It helps that I'm a fan of the comics as well. Here's some interesting but useless information about the differences between the movie and comic version of the origin of Spider-Man.

Movie: Peter Parker gets bitten by a genetically engineered/altered spider.
Comic: Peter Parker gets bitten by a normal spider that was just bombarded with radiation just moments before. It was hanging by its web and was just between the source of some machines, got zapped, got agitated, dropped on poor Peter's hand and bit him

Movie: Peter Parker shoots web fluid from his wrists and looks as if its from his blood stream
Comic: Peter Parker creates webshooters worn on his wrists, with the triggers on his palms and the web is chemically created, since he's the science whiz. He wears a belt which carries spare web-fluid cartridges and the buckle of the belt contains a micro-camera to take photos of him in action.
Note: There have been some pretty interesting notes about him shooting web from his wrists. Some reader once wrote a letter to Marvel (the comic publisher) and asked "If Spider-Man taps the web-shooter's trigger (on the palm) to shoot his web, won't he be shooting web fluid when he clenches his fist to punch enemies? The response to the question was: "Spidey has to do a quick double-tap on the triggers to shoot the web fluid from the web-shooters". Pretty interesting eh? Bet you wouldn't know this if you didn't read my journal. :p

Movie: Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson are neighbours since they were kids and go to the same school
Comic: Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson don't meet until they're adults as far as I can remember. Nothing was ever mentioned about MJ being Peter's school mate and/or neighbour. MJ's a model/actress in the modern version of the comics.

Movie: Flash Thompson, the school bully has dark hair.
Comic: Flash Thompson, the school bully has blonde hair.

Movie: Peter is in love with Mary Jane as long as he can remember.
Comic: Peter has a girlfriend called Gwen Stacy, who's a blonde, but was killed by Green Goblin/Hobgoblin.

Movie: Uncle Ben dies after being shot in the chest while being car-jacked at the roadside by the robber Peter didn't stop. The robber dies in the movie.
Comic: Uncle Ben dies after being shot at home when the robber/burglar breaks into their house. I think the robber is just arrested here, or I think he died of a heart attack, result of being scared to death when Spider-Man catches him.

Movie: Nothing is mentioned about the webbing of Spider-Man after being shot out.
Comic: In the comics, the webbing disappears after about 2 hours. Must be one of Peter's brilliant inventions.

Movie: Spider-Man uses his webbing for swinging about and also about a few other uses, such as pulling objects and to cover up J.Jonah Jameson's mouth.
Comic: The webbing can be made into shapes, for example a shield, a safety net, a bat as a weapon and alot of other uses. It was even fireproof in the comics.

Movie: It is not explained how Spider-Man is able to hold onto the cable car full of school children. You just see that he's really strong.
Comic: It is said that spiders can carry many times its own weight and therefore, that makes Spider-Man as strong as hell.

Movie: Green Goblin wears a high tech exoskeleton/suit and throws mechanical pumpkin shaped bombs. The glider is equipped with machine guns, missles and blades.
Comic: Green Goblin wears tights which are green with a purple mask, purple gloves, purple vest and purple boots. He also throws pumpkin bombs. I don't remember the glider having missles. machine guns and blades.

I think that's about it that I can remember, the differences between movie and the comic. I'll stop here for now. Don't want to bore you all any further.

It's back to work tomorrow, already ironed my uniform earlier this evening. I'll update again soon. Promise.

OK - I'm back. That was quick! Yes, I called AL. I dialled the number and some guy answered *uh oh*. He sounded like an old guy, I can't be sure. Anyway, it was the correct phone number. And I managed to talk to her awhile. Asked her where she was staying now ( Parkville/Parkvale? Near the zoo? Near the city. Near her work place). So why am I here? She's watching " The Saint " at the moment. Here's part of the conversation towards the end : -

Me: So you're watching the movie now. Do you want me to call later?
AL: Up to you.
Me: No, no, it's up to you. Do you want to continue watching the movie?
AL: Dunno.
Me: What time is the movie going to end?
AL: Dunno. I think its going to end soon.
Me: OK, what time do you sleep?
AL: Dunno. * giggles *
Me: I'll call you back later. What time do you want me to call? 30 minutes time? 1hour's time?
AL: Up to you.* giggles *
Me: OK, I'll call you in one hour ok?
AL: OK sure. Talk to you later then.

So, I guess its still *TO BE CONTINUED*.....One things for sure though, her voice still sounds as cute as ever. :þ

Another thing I forgot to mention in my earlier update because I was over-excited ( Not over-excited that way! Get your minds out of the gutter! :þ ). Guess who I saw at Macca's again today? YES. I saw Ching Ching AGAIN. That's like 3 times out of 4 days of me working there. Someone ought to tell that girl too much Macca's isn't good for health!

45 minutes to go. What am I going to do now? Guess this is all for tonight.

The weekend is here and I survived my first week at work! To be honest, it wasn't all that bad. I must say I did pretty well myself. I keep expecting something bad to happen and I've survived!

Ooh, I finally worked with a female colleague today on my shift. Her name's Dallas. She's got reddish coloured hair. Quite a pretty girl. I also met 3 other female colleagues but can't remember their names. Yes, I'm hopeless. Like I said in yesterday's update, the atmosphere is sort of like a family environment. There's something else I forgot to mention about yesterday. I had to grab a pack of fries and Shannon was there filling up the fry packets. I took one, without realising that it was for his order. He then scolded me jokingly saying " That's my fries you cheeky bugger! ". I apologise but he just laughed saying " No worries. ".

I've noticed that the people working there like touching asses alot. Today, I saw Dallas "squeezing" either Shannon's or Tony's ass. Hrrmm... I want my turn too! :þ Ermm...ok, that didn't come out the way I intended it to. What I meant was I want Dallas to squeeze my ass, and not that I want to squeeze Shannon or Tony's ass. Got it cleared? Good!

The other incident, Tony saw me going over to get the fries, and he was racing me to get the fries. He managed to get his serve before me and he started teasing me. Hrmmm....
One more thing I noticed is that they are sort of physical people. Butt touching is one of them. I noticed that Tony gives people pats on the backs. Just another observation.

I talked to Tony about giving more work time and he said he'll talk to Shannon about it. They had a quick discussion but nothing concrete has been achieved. I mentioned going over to Macca's Kew to get a night shift and Tony said he'll talk with the people at Kew and see if they can work something out for me. I was having a short break, taking a drink in the manager's office while Dallas was there having an unwanted Chocolate Super Sundae. She seemed shocked that I asked for 30 hours or more. Well, I noticed from her body language even though she was stuffing her face with ice cream. I just mentioned that I needed the money. Guess it's just waiting now.

I got home past 5.15 pm and just lazed around for a couple of hours. Was online for a few hours and had dinner about 40 minutes ago. Here I am now at 10.11 pm. Another good thing happened today. AL replied my email. YES!!!! Finally got her new contact number. She accused me of being mean because I said she'd only agree to come out with me if I offered to pay for her meal and her movie ticket. Actually, I wasn't being mean. If it did seem mean, it wasn't meant to be that way. It was just one of my "tactics" and I guess it worked *grins*.

It's past 10 pm now. I think she should be home by now. I think I'll give her a call after this so if you'll excuse me.....

What happens after the conversation? Am I going to call her? Will she meet me this weekend or do I have to wait months while she disappears on me again?

*TO BE CONTINUED*

DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.DAMN.

I actually had an update last night, finished everything before I went to bed. Then, I forgot to publish my journal and shut down my pc instead and lost everything. I remembered after I shut down the pc so I quickly booted up to check and sure enough, the latest update wasn't there. Well, you guys didn't miss much anyway. It was my off day yesterday. Nothing much interesting to talk about. I guess I'll skip that. I might include some of the stuff I mentioned last night.
Some good stuff I hope :D

Just got out of the shower and DT told me that I have mail today. He said it could be from SONY and there was a letter as well. Letter from Monash, Demo from SONY. It's called "Smash Court Tennis - Pro Tournament". Hey, even though I'm not that much of a tennis fan, a free demo is a free demo! How bloody "kiasu" can a person be? :þ Let me impress you with my knowledge even though I'm not much of a tennis fan. On the front of the cardboard sleeve are pics of some of the players. We've got a bald Andre Agassi, a fine looking Martina Hingis, a hairy Pete Sampras, another fine looking specimen of Anna Kournikova, someone familiar girl (more on this later), some guy I don't know, another familiar looking girl (later as well) and finally, Pat Rafter (I think). I turned the sleeve over to look at some screenshots and read the description, the girls that looked familiar are Monica Seles and Lindsay Davenport. Now, for someone who doesn't even watch a single set of tennis, I'm doing pretty well wouldn't you say? *winks*
There's another name at the back and I assume its the dude I don't know, who is Yevgeny Kafelnikov. OK, that name sort of rings a bell. Might have heard it on the sports channel before. See how it just rolls of your tongues... Kafelnikov.... HAHAHA. Say that 10 times really fast and try not to get tongue tied! How nice, I'm even creating little games for all of you to enjoy. Guess I'll try out this little demo when I have the time.

OK, today's the 3rd day at work. No Jezza to watch my back, but I got Stephen. He's alright. Sounds abit stoned at times. In fact, he looks abit like that actor, Giovanni Ribisi from "Saving Private Ryan" (as the medic) and "Gone in 60 Seconds" (as Nicolas Cage's brother). Actually now that I mention it, this Ribisi dude also acts/sounds stoned most of the time! What a revelation! Anyway, Stephen was a nice guy, going through the checklists of my duties with me etc. All in all, a pretty good day. Tony warned me about Adam (who's a pretty good looking kid) and said that Adam pokes people's butts sometimes. When I was cleaning the trays and Tony was replacing the serviettes, I saw Adam sneak up behind him and squeezed his butt! Hrmmm....I don't think Adam is gay. OK, so alot of good looking guys are gay, but I think I'll observe more before I make any conclusions. The atmosphere seems to be that of a family. People are friendly, its not too bad I'd say. Still, I've got to see Tony if he's working tomorrow to talk about my shifts. I need more work time for more money. Otherwise, I'll see if I can go see Ben to try getting some night shifts at Kew.

So what else is new....I guess I'll include some stuff from last night's update which wasn't updated DAMN.

Ryan asked me the other day why McDonald's is called Macca's. I couldn't answer him the other day. Then yesterday while doing updates, I remembered an column I read one or 2 Sunday's back. The column is called "Life Down Under" (I think) and it's written by a Phoebe Fong who's Malaysian but living in Australia with her 2 sons, Ian and Jordan. Yes, I got all this from the column.. I believe its a weekly column and the particular one I'm about to mention was pretty interesting. So here goes.

- Aussies like to shorten names. Example: Jeremy = Jezza, Barbeques = Barbie, McDonald's = Macca's and so forth.

- In OZ, everyone's a "mate". Dad's call their sons "mate", friends call each other "mate", strangers call each other "mate", even bosses call their employees "mate" (like in my case as well)

- Aussies love Barbies (BBQ). Just a couple of days ago, 4 guys at the BBQ pit just behind our unit, in the middle of the cold autumn evening.

That's about all I can remember from the column. Do check it out every Sunday in the Star. It makes pretty interesting reading. I read it occasionally when something looks ....erm....interesting. :D Also some interesting (here's that word again) that I found out reading that column, the writer was actually classmates/schoolmates with Patrick Teoh (Radio DJ/actor) and Michelle Yeoh (actress/beauty queen)!! Now, I even teach you new things. Is my journal THE BEST or what? :D

Here's more to share with all of you. As you all should know by now, the football World Cup fever is upon us. Personally, I don't give a flying shit about the World Cup. (I actually used this exact same sentence yesterday, minus the word "flying" because I thought it just sounded so cool). But just to get into the mood, I'm pasting some quotes from some pretty famous footballers. This is something that I found in the General section of the Sony Playstation forums.

I'm sure alot of us know that David Beckham is good looking, and is paid millions of pounds per year and plays some pretty decent football. I've seen abit of a documentary once called "The Real David Beckham" on tv once and he mentioned that he wasn't very "bright/smart". I'm starting to believe that and here's some proof if you care to read on. I think David Beckham has the intelligence of a retarded donkey. I don't think the other footballers are any smarter than him either.

Tell you what, next time your kids don't like studying, let them play some sport. If they are good and make it professionally, you'll get people like David Beckham, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan just to name a few. All millionaires now just from sports. Read the quotes and laugh your asses off. Some of their stupidity is pure genius! Erm, did that make any sense? I don't know if these are actually true, but let's enjoy them anyway, shall we?

Without further ado, I give you :-

Enjoyed yourself? I was just going through some of what I typed just to make sure I don't make myself look like an idiot by making similar mistakes. Then I remembered something someone said once. It refers to the use of the term "stupid idiot". Now, according to www.dictionary.com, "idiot means a foolish or stupid person". Suppose you scold someone using that term, "You stupid idiot", wouldn't you actually be scolding them "You stupid stupid" or "You idiot idiot" ? You want more funny stuff? Check out this site:

Geez, don't I spoil you all. I think this is all for tonight. I better "Post & Publish" before I forget and waste all my effort for the 2nd night in a row.

Oh DAMN. It's Thursday and "Spider-Man" is showing. Guess I won't be watching it until the weekend I suppose.
