Here's the deal, I'll give you US $ 1 million dollars. You can do anything you want with it, keep it, frame it, give it away, burn it ... anything, as long as you can't buy ANYTHING with it. Ouch?

That's what I'm feeling. Oh its true. The irony. Having a car but being not able to drive it.

Went to SBB to open a new bank account yesterday during lunch. Service was quick and efficient. Managed to get my account PLUS my ATM card activated in less than 20 minutes!

So the votes are in and the results are final. The winner of the “Best Service and Efficiency” for the Bank Category is - *drum roll*

Bumiputra-Commerce Finance, Kelana Jaya

Two 1-finger salutes to them! Hats off to them, those fuckers take the cake. It’s been more than one month and I still have not gotten my road tax. Those fucking cunts.

Saw a Wira today on the way to work. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a proud owner of a Proton car. Not only did he have the Proton & Wira badge on the rear boot-lid, he had not ONE, not TWO but THREE Proton “tiger” badges on the boot-lid. I mean come on… what the fuck?!?!? I know a majority of the population would dump the only badge they have at the very first opportunity they have.

As you can see, I’m not in the best of moods. We’ll be moving, effectively this Friday, 2nd January 2004. Yes, no longer to Kelana Jaya but further in Puchong. And we don’t have our PCs yet.

Chuah hitched a ride home yesterday. He was going to some briefing, supposedly for a programming job – to create an electronic version of the “LASY” toy. He invited me and I went all the way to Kelana Square. Suspected it was a direct-selling ploy the moment I stepped into their office. I told Chuah to leave but he didn’t want to. Guess I’ll find out from him what it really was. In the end I still had to pay RM 1 parking because I was 1 minute late. He also borrowed my “Two Towers” Limited Edition DVD.

My own sisters called me “evil” because I left him there alone and didn’t offer to send him home in Puchong. I thought I was nice enough after offering to drop him off at Kelana Square and loaning him my ORIGINAL DVDs?

We’re planning to go watch ROTK sometime this week. Fingers crossed that we can get our tickets.

Updates:

6:55 am - Seen Hon called and told me we got tickets for tonight. Yay! Found out that the fuckers at the bank are what's causing the delay. It seems that alot of people have their eye on this car of mine. So they think by delaying it, I'll give up so they can get the car for themselves. Bloody fuckers.

Anita Mui passed away. Shocking news. I heard people talking about the office - the way they kept talking, I knew someone had died but just didn't know who. They kept playing her songs on the radio. Not being a fan of cantonese songs, I had no idea it was her. Only found out when I watched tv at home and read the papers.

Oh, Happy New Year to all of you! Mine seems to be getting off to a great start!

I've been watching pirated DVDs the past 2 days. I strongly recommend that you turn on and read the subtitles when watching pirated DVDs. You'll get a laugh out of it. The people who did them are just bullshitting their way out. They put in whatever they think sounds or resembles what the actors/actresses say on screen. Real funny stuff.

We actually went out to see clients for the past 2 days as well. Yesterday, we went to see a client who wanted to get a barcode printer, somewhere near Cheras. That was when we went with Rachel and Fairus. Today, we went to the Tengku Ampuan Hospital in Klang to deliver some barcode labels. Before that, Jeffrey took us to look at the place we might be moving to later on. Seems kind of far. Hope he'll subsidize us with petrol allowance.

Might be doing some shopping - for computers, or notebooks like we proposed to Jeffrey. Have to see how that turns out.

Just got a message that all of them will only be back tomorrow. Guess I'll have the house to myself for another night.

Just noticed that the disc Jeffrey gave me is VB 6.0 only and not Microsoft Visual Studio. Wonder if its got MSDN in it. OK, so the damn disc can't be installed unless I uninstall my Visual Studio. Conflicts or something of that sort. I guess I'll let Seen Hon try it at home. Don't want to touch my stuff for now.

Almost time for bed. Another day tomorrow.

Recommends: Bobby Brown - Rock Witcha

Don't know why I'm feeling so retro lately. Been listening to alot of older music. Bobby Brown, PM Dawn.....

Got stuck in a jam for an hour today. Took me that whole hour to get to the office which would normally take me 15 – 20 minutes. It wasn’t too bad, I had my radio. All of them have gone to Johor and Singapore for a few days. Have the whole house to myself.

I just watched “2 Fast 2 Furious”. Jon was nice enough to lend me some of his DVDs including “The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days”. Ahh, Kate Hudson – she’s a babe. Gorgeous and cute at the same time.

Everytime I see Kate Hudson, she reminds me of AL. I just don’t know why.

Met 2 new people at work today. Faris and Rachel. Now, Rachel – she’s the babe of the office. Seems like a nice girl too.

That bitch Saadiah hasn’t called yet. That means no FUCKING ROAD TAX!

These prawn crackers I’m having are not fresh. They’ve lost the crunch in them.

On Sunday night, I went to meet Jon. Neesha wasn’t feeling well so she didn’t make it in the end. I had a feeling she was going to “ffk” when Jon told me she hadn’t called him earlier that evening.

Wanted Western food for dinner but ended up at “Sushi Wong”. Proceeded for coffee at “Starbucks” after that. The new “Peppermint Mocha Frappucino” was interesting but I don’t think I’ll be having that again.

Must remember to give the DVDs back to Jon, at least the “2 Fast 2 Furious” before Christmas – he says. Don’t think that would be a problem, just that I don’t know if I have time to watch it though.

The drive to Bangsar was peaceful. Didn’t need to speed, no one challenging the road for space.

Then – I snap back to reality. A peaceful drive like that is simply not possible. It’s like preparing to go to a battle everyday. Everyday is a mental preparation for war. That’s Malaysian drivers for you. Drive like one or prepared to be screwed somehow. I think it helps that I removed the “P” stickers from the front and rear windshields – didn’t get bullied much, as one should expect driving with one of those stickers. Kinda like driving with a bullseye painted on your vehicle.

I’m sitting in my car as I’m blogging this. 10 minutes before work officially starts. I think its time to head on upstairs.

And I’m back at my table now. We’re going to need some computers soon, laptops at least.

The modem at home has been stuffing up as the Aussies would say it. I don’t know if it’s the drivers or the USB port itself. Didn’t have much problem connecting to the laptop when I tried it yesterday. Might have to try installing the ADSL Loader via WinXP if it starts acting funny again.

Manage to chat with Kimmie again the night before after a long time. My, has she changed! And that’s a good thing! She looks good now, she looks good with long hair. Then again, I’m pretty biased when it comes to this. I’ve always preferred girls with long hair. No wonder she didn’t reply my SMS. She changed her phone number! But that was about 6 months ago – she asked me if I got her SMS. I don’t remember getting anything from her.

Told her we’ll plan to meet up once I get my road tax settled. That bitch Saadiah better do her job! I think there are lots of people I have to meet. No worries when I get to drive my car.

There’s KL, maybe Vivian, we’ll see who else comes into mind.

Where’s the rest of the people? What’s going on?

Sunday morning. Eyes are getting tired. Might have to head off to bed after this. Had a really long day. Just finished the remainder of "Survivor Series" which I didn't get to watch the last time around. Before that, it was the Asian television premier of "Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring". Don't know how many times I've seen this movie. I've lost count. Still, I'm not bored of it - not yet anyway.

I finally used the RM 50 Tower Records voucher that Deidere got me for my birthday. Might as well since there is a validity date on that thing. It might expire in February but no point waiting that long before I actually do something about it.

So today I took a drove down to 1U. A lot has changed since the last time I was there. The new wing is now open but I didn't really look around. I was there for a purpose so I didn't want to waste much time exploring. I did go round looking at sneakers though. That's right, the Adidas and Nike still seem to be in my mental shopping list. Speaking of shopping lists, I wanted to get some hair gel but I forgot. Damn it! ( Yeah, I've cut my hair pretty short again ).

So anyway, got my "Two Towers Extended Edition" DVD from Tower Records. Cost me RM 119.90, after deducting the cash voucher. Got home, found out my Pioneer DVD player doesn't play Region 1 discs. Tried my PS2 and XBOX and both didn't play Region 1 discs either. Shit. My last hope was Deidere's laptop. I guess there wouldn't be problems of the discs having problems ie. not working.

Which brings me to my DVD player. I could've sworn the sales person said it plays discs from ALL regions. Either that or I could be mistaken. At least I have something to test their claims if I plan to get a new player - which I think I might some time in the future.
So right now, I'm left with 2 options:

Option A - get a new DVD player and make sure it plays ALL REGIONS.
Option B - find some place to modify the DVD player, although I think it would be better off getting a completely new unit.

Supposed to meet Jon and Neesha tomorrow evening/night. Haven't decided where and when yet. Don't even know who else is coming.

Wonder which car I should take.....

Saturday, December 13, 2003

It's Friday evening. Right now, I’m waiting for Raymond and Chuah. Of all places in the world, I’m waiting at Macca’s. My mobile is dying on me, haven’t charged it for about 2 days. Working on the laptop that Deidere brought back from her office, an ACER Tablet PC. I’m getting a hang of it. I guess I wouldn’t have problems working with a laptop after this.

I suppose its fate or something, I can’t escape – somehow connected to Maccas. Not that it’s a really bad thing – or is it?

. We all met for lunch today, just like any other day the past week. We decided to go watch “Infernal Affairs 3” at IOI Mall, just further down the street from the office. We discussed this yesterday but only managed to get tickets for the 7:30 pm show. It should be good, even the reviews I’ve read say so.

Traffic was quite heavy, near a stand-still but I managed to make it.

A week of industrial attachment has gone by. To be totally honest, it wasn’t as bas as I thought it’d be. Then again, there was nothing much to be done during this first week.

SH and I arrived on Monday and waited more than an hour before JF finally arrived. There was almost nothing to do the entire week. JF wasn’t around for the past 2 days, gone outstation on business.

So, there was no work, no Internet access, worse of all, NO PC for me and SH at all! We have to share a 6’ table for the moment. We’re waiting for the consultant to come in before we officially kick off the project. In the mean time, JF might be searching around for some PCs.

So, we learnt a couple of new things this past week, how to issue invoices and Dos. We also learnt how to use the courier service, or the procedures rather.

JF seems to be really ambitious, there are lots that he wants to do, but doesn’t know where and how to start. Sounds pretty familiar. I know I’ve been there. His company seems to be totally unrelated to the rest although Mr Wong is the biggest shareholder of the company. As for the staff, haven’t had the chance to have any proper conversations with them. There’s one girl there who’s pretty cute who came over to talk to me yesterday, OK, so she wanted to find out the price of a thermal printer. At least it’s a start of something.

That biatch Saadiah still hasn’t done a damn thing yet. As of today, I still don’t have a road tax for my car. For fuck’s sake, when will they hurry it up?!?!?! I’m impatient, I really want to drive it, I guess I want to impress.

Was supposed to meet Jon tomorrow with the rest of them. He called about 15 minutes ago to say he can’t make it. No problem, I want to impress him too. He’ll turn green with envy, that I can be sure. Not that I want to show off or anything.

Time to go off, and will upload this when the time is right.

Ouch, I twisted my ankle. Here's an X-File for you - does anyone twist their ankles while sleeping? I don't know how or what happened but it did. It's the only explanation to my present predicament. Waking up in the morning to feel an unexplainable pain. Or is there more to it than this?

I really don't know what the hell is going on between APAC and the Bank now. I might not even have my road tax in time for when I start work next week. I might have to risk it and drive around without a valid road tax. I'm pretty sure I handed the road tax to Saadiah the week before she left for her Raya break. Or did I hand it to someone else?

I'm so fucking irritated now - I don't know if I should be pissed at myself, APAC, Saadiah or Bumiputra Commerce! How about all of the above! Too much to handle - first with the FMUTM exams, the SmartCard Project, handling the loan for the finance company.

Was surprised when I got a SMS from Sally the other night. Kind of forgot about her already since its been so long since I sent her that SMS. Well, at least she replied with a few more before I fell asleep, and I suppose she did too since it was probably past 11 pm here (2 am in Melbourne, I reckon). She's also been asking me if I'm going back for a visit. When people ask "When are you coming back to visit?", does that mean they really want to see you or is it out of formality? It's a good thing anyway you look at it I suppose.

Starting my attachment next Monday. Tried an alternative route to the office earlier today. About 1/2 an hour without jam. That's the problem, I haven't driven during rush hour yet. Talked to Anusha yesterday and she tells me Matsushita will be paying them RM 500 allowance. I don't know what conditions there are for my attachment yet. Don't know how much I'll be getting, don't even know if I'll be working Saturdays. Hopefully I won't and of course who wouldn't want a bigger paycheque?

Talking to PF online, and the events that happened regarding my damned invoice is starting to come back to me. I remember dad being there when I handed the invoice to whoever was there that Saturday morning. Maybe I'll just leave it to him to follow-up. I'm sure he'll get better results than I would. Besides, I've got more things to handle as well. At least that's a burden off for now. Now I know the people I should be pissed at would be Saadiah and co. Damn bitches better get my road tax for me soon!

Just remembered that Daphne told me that "The Two Towers" Extended Edition DVD is out at Tower Records. Time to go shopping one of these days.

Think I need a haircut one of these days as well.
