Windy City.....

There was a dramatic change in the weather here during the CNY holidays. Either I've been away too long or my memory's acting up again. I don't seem to remember it being so windy during CNY. Then again, it seemed familiar - something I might have experienced before.

It has been fantastic weather the past week. Sure it rained and dirtied my car (its pretty shitty to have a white-coloured car stained with blothces of dirt residue from raindrops) but the weather was cooling. Looks like I've stopped complaining about the heat now.

Was scared shitless yesterday. THE BOSS (as he shall be known from now on) decided to take a drive to Low Yat Plaza to check out prices of 2nd hand notebooks as well as PC prices. He kept asking the same questions over and over again - to the point that it got almost irritating. Then again, he is THE BOSS. Finally, after many hours and saliva wasted on haggling for the price, he finally settled for one. Now, we just have to wait until next week to get our PC when the prices would supposedly reduce. We'll just have to see.

So why was I scared? I realised that I forgot to remove my CD player's headunit off the car, which would sort of be an invitation for a theft. Then of course, another reason being there was NO ONE at the office. With the metal shutters closed and most of the shoplots being vacant, its a scary thought to leave one's vehicle unwatched in a place like that.

Honestly, after the theft of my Smart Tag, I've become really paranoid. It's getting scary.

Have to go back to SHRDC tomorrow. Hope we can finish the SmartCard Project once and for all and be rid of it!

There seems to be some progress with RK. We sent about 4 - 5 SMS-es to each other. Lots of teasing but something positive might come out of it - a meal at the very least. Managed to get her email but she hasn't replied. A friendly SMS reminder one of these days would reveal what happened. I'm a fox, after all. But as usual, it takes time and will have to see what happens.

New Year, New Format

It's the 5th day of the Chinese New Year. Guess its time for a little subtle change in the looks of this blog again.

Can't say CNY was exceptional. The usual reunion dinners etc. Red packet haul was moderate I suppose. Maybe its the economy but I think I remember getting much more when I was much younger. I guess something's better than nothing.

Haven't been doing anything productive at "work" as yet. We'll be getting chairs and computers this coming week, the earliest.

I guess no more "Fast & Furious" moments the past couple of weeks. Been driving pretty normally except for that time when a stupid fuck in a modded Wira pulled up along side my car and revved his engine. He had a whole array of meters on his dashboard, neon lights under his car, Indiglo meters from what I could tell. Somehow, I think its more fun to let them speed off thinking that I would race with them.

Luck this year should be decent. Nothing really major but its supposedly much better than last year's. Only thing is no going to funerals and stuff like that. I'm not supposed to be greedy. The highlight of course is that I shouldn't work overseas this year meaning that I'd not be going back to Melbourne this year. Also I shouldn't change jobs because it seems that I'd be unhappy if I went to work for another company. Guess I'd have to stay in Puchong for a year at least?

There's been something I wanted to write about but as usual, I forgot. Way to go. Sometimes, it just really get on my nerves.

I wonder what's the ocassion today. Been chatting online with some people who sort of disappeared for awhile. Still, its good to be able to catch up with them.

It looks gloomy. It's going to rain any time. Have to go pick Ryan up later. I logged in with a purpose - there was a specific topic I wanted to blog but now that I'm here, I've forgotten what it is. Memory getting screwed up for sure. I blame it on my age.

Body's been aching for the past 2 days. I think that's a sign of flu. I think its medically proven. Also add the fact that I've been moving furniture around at the new office. Now JF tells us he wants to get 2 new PCs and a 2nd hand notebook. He's asking us to list our requirements - AGAIN.

He's been telling us he's on a budget, doesn't want to spend too much unnecessarily for the time being bla bla bla. I guess being employees, there's nothing much we can say. We don't have chairs at the office yet, we just finished rearranging the tables. No phone lines, no chairs. Did I mention no PCs yet?

OK - its already raining. I have to go pick Ryan up later. Damn. I hate going out when it rains.

Haven't been doing much New Year shopping. Managed to get a shirt yesterday. I guess the excitement is no longer there. I guess I have some other shirts I bought previously. That should last me for sometime.

Also bought some new games for the PS2. I guess that's a way to pass time over the CNY holidays.

Yes, today is indeed a day of many meetings. Julie just came online again. Good thing I got her new contact number.

I haven't replied DT's messages. I guess I won't even bother. Screw it. Got the feeling he's trying to cash in on the sudden rise in the exchange rate against the Australian Dollar. Too bad for him. Even if I had the money, I'd probably won't transfer it to him at the moment.

Well, finally back online after a 2 week hiatus. Its good to be back. Kind of like an addiction now. I've said it many times before, no harm saying it again.

Jeffrey gave us the day off. We were supposed to clean up the new office but the electrician was going to be late. Now its been postponed till Monday. Plus - we're getting ONE whole week off for Chinese New Year! So much free time but don't think I've got anything much to do. Wonder who'll be around?

Had a "Fast & Furious" moment the other night. Met up with OW to have some drinks and he was leading the way to USJ. Some mamak which I had no idea where. OW was weaving in and out of traffic, driving pretty fast I must say. Of course I had to trail him. Then at one point, he swerved into the fast lane and I had to wait for about 5 - 6 cars to pass. I must admit I might have misjudged the distance of the car coming from behind so when I turned into the fast lane, this jackass starts to flash his lights.

The wanker was in some modified Kancil. So there he is, flashing his high-beams so I floor the accelerator thinking I'm in his way. I go drive into the middle lane and the asshole trails me. I'm thinking "what the fuck is his problem?". It's not that I wanted to race. He was dangerously close because I couldn't see his headlights in my rearview mirror. So I floor it some more, weaving in and out of traffic and this dickhead is still following me.

2 issues I had to consider during this high speed chase: I was on the look out for OW's car and I was running out of road because I approaced the bend leading to Subang Jaya. Further down the road, I spot OW's car so I ease off the gas in the slow lane and the fool just drives into the fast lane and overtakes us all.

Can't a guy just have a leisurely cruise in a modified car? What do they have to prove? I'm sure I'd have no problems if I decided to carry on with the race though. Besides, now that I think about it, I should have just slowed down or braked a couple of times just to piss that little cunt off.

So one of my previous customers at McDonald's in Melbourne was right, and I quote him -

"It doesn't matter if you're male or female, young or old. If you're a dickhead, you're a dickhead".

I hear ya, mate!

A strange thing happened though while racing that night. My arms and hands went almost numb. It was like the strength in my arms just vanished. I thought it was the adrenaline rush and left it at that.

And then it happened again for a second time. This time, I was driving home from work along the LDP. I wasn't speeding or anything like that. The talk about ghosts and the supernatural with SH (which included the accidents that happen along the LDP) the other day got me thinking :- perhaps its some kind of warning for me. A warning for me not to speed. Strange indeed because SH has never experienced anything like that before. Have you?

Was supposed to have met Boon last weekend but he was going off to Genting. Maybe this weekend. He's here from Melbourne for Chinese New Year.

I'm such a devious little....fox. Cunning. Used dirty tactics to get Rachel's phone number. Already SMS-ed her. We'll see what happens. I'm EVIL. 52% evil according to that Internet test I did some months back.

Bored now. Getting a little hot and irritated. Maybe its time for a shower.

Tiu Niaseng, DT is starting to piss me off. Now, after 3 years, he tells me that there's some money that I owe him. I'm pretty sure I've settled this debt with him. And also after 1 year, he tells me that he forgot to include the cost of the packing cartons when I transferred money to him to ship my stuff back via Jetta Express. Don't know what his intention is - starting his message with "you know what, there's something I just remembered but didn't tell you" and ending it with "hahaha".

I was thinking of ignoring his messages, pretend I didn't get it but I think I'll ask him if he's 100% sure I still owe him the money. The money for the packing boxes from Jetta is acceptable, but the other amount I find it disturbing. How can he "suddenly remember" after 3 years anyway? Will see how it works out ..... just as I wrote yesterday, this year isn't off to a good start.

Was with some of the guys yesterday. Went to watch "Return Of The King" at Pyramid.
Stayed on for a drink before the Countdown. The place we were gathered was pretty bad. Not much of a view of the fireworks. It's just another day - nothing special. Maybe we're getting old. Or perhaps too tired, not really in a festive mood. I guess that happens if you've been at the office for 8 hours without having anything to do, followed by a 3 1/2 hour movie.

Watching such a long movie left me with a sore ass. I'm kinda glad I missed the movie marathon. I'm not sure if I could have lasted through. I had too much liquids before ROTK. I had to go to the "little boys" about 1 hour into the movie. Good thing there wasn't anything exciting to miss at that time. I guess I've proven that one's bladder can only take 2 Large Cokes at the most before you start to feel the effects. I've got to stop taking so much Coke.

So my opinions on "Return Of The King" - I've been waiting for this movie for ages. I think I have mixed reactions towards it. Not that its not a good movie - it is. Plus we watched it on a Wednesday, the RM 7 admission price is a bargain. It's just that I'm not really a big fan of huge battle scenes, the cameras pan too quickly and you can't really see what's going on. Maybe its time to read the books again.

So my votes are in and in my personal preference comparing all 3 movies:

First Place: The Fellowship Of The Ring
Second and Third: The Two Towers, Return Of The King (only because of continuity sake).

Now, I'll just have to wait until the end of the year for the Extended Edition DVD and my collection will be complete.

It's a New Year, time for resolutions which I'll NOT make because I always end up not fulfilling them. Who am I trying to kid? I really can't be bothered. Happy New Year to all you readers our there.
