Hello, is it me you're looking for?

Luci has been having some problems with the joystick on her phone. Because of that, she hardly texted me. Boo hoo. She hasn't been feeling well too. If she reads this, I hope she's feeling better.

Feel Good Recipe
  • 1 SMS
  • 2 handphones
  • Lots of sugar-coated words
Directions:
Mix sugar-coated words into SMS and transfer from 1 handphone to the other. Serves 1 Feel Good ego boost.

I got an sms the other day from Reena and she called me handsome. What an ego boost! She's been feeling down lately. I hope she's doing fine.

Saw a nice picture in the papers the other day - Spider-Man hype. Tobey Maguire in a black suit, and black ooze dripping off him. Can't wait to watch Spider-Man 3 in the cinemas. It opens on 1st May 2007. And I don't get bloody Labour Day off like the rest of Malaysia (or is it only KL/Selangor?)!!!!! UK's Labour Day would be on the first working Monday of the month, which would be 7th May.

Tobey Maguire - Back In Black

Could this be the last time we see Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker?

I finally got around to catching up on my TV series. I've been putting them off for a few weeks now. Managed to watch the last 3 episodes of Heroes and just finished watching the latest episode titled "0.7%".

What's with the title? Apparently, 0.7% is the percentage of the world population killed if the Heroes failed to prevent that explosion that's supposed to go off in New York City. That wasn't a spoiler because we know about the explosion.

Some people die (NO, that wasn't a SPOILER. We already know it from the start of the season and in previous episodes), introductions to some new "Heroes" with powers never seen in previous episodes, we finally get to see Mr. Linderman and other revelations. The plot thickens.....What a twist!

It seems like every episode ends with a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next one!

It was a FUCKING HOT day. Went out with Dad, Deidere and Daphne. Had to send Ryan for tuition. I was told by dad on Thursday that Focus Point was having a sale and he asked if I needed new glasses. I was planning to get them changed. I finally have a reason.

When we got to the KL Head Office (at least I think it was), I realized it was a warehouse clearance sale. A few of them caught my eye - I finally settled for this:

It's POLICE

Apparently, its made in Italy. Was looking for some Titanium frames (cause they're so light) but I couldn't find any that I fancied. These are stainless steel.

It's got the POLICE brand on the lens, and stamped on the frame. I got this because they're sort of regtangular in shape. I read that people with round faces should get angular/square/rectangle frames. And I think I have a round-ish face.

Yes, I did say that I was out to get new glasses and these are sunglasses. I'm going to get the lens replaced. I'm probably going to get the exact shaped lenses made. I don't have much choice as these are half-framed glasses.

Now for the best bit! The sticker price on this was RM 610. Yes, RM 610. Clearance price? RM 90. That's Ninety Ringgit Malaysia! What a bargain.

Was advised by the sales guy to get the frames and take them to a branch to get the glasses made. Waiting for them to do it at their head office would take about 2 weeks.

Then it was out to get some income tax related documents at the office in Kelana Jaya. Kept eyeing the meter on the dashboard as the needle kept inching upwards, the engine was overheating. And the damned air-con is giving problems again. Need to get it fixed ASAP!

Just realized that it takes 36 seconds to open up Microsoft Word. What the fuck?! I didn't even have downloads going on in the background! I wanted to use the spell check. And then I realized that there's on in Blogger itself. Sheeeeeesh. What a cock-up! Well, at least I know that it takes 36 seconds to open up Microsoft Word on this laptop!

Dinner with mum, dad and Aunt Cathy. I don't remember when was the last time I went for a meal with them. I have no idea what the place is called but its just nearby.

Sure, we can get Char Kuey Teow in Cyberjaya but I don't think its this good.

I had chicken porridge with a side order of extra Yau Char Kwai, some of mum and dad's Char Kuey Teow. And SATAY!!!!!

Mmmmm, I think the last time I had satay was at least 6 months ago! I seriously can't remember having satay recently! I remember it being the only Malaysian food I craved for when I was in Melbourne.

Funny how a simple hawker meal can be so tasty and satisfying.

Seems like quite a number of activities packed into a day.....

Holy shit!!!!! I just realized that this month, marks the 5th Anniversary that I've been blogging. Wow, has it been that long?

Happy 5th Birthday, Inner Voices!

Achievement Unlocked.....

One feature of the XBOX360, is that playing games will unlock achievements. Most of the time, it involves reaching specific targets in the game ie. kill X number of zombies etc. By doing so, a little message will pop up on screen, stating the achievement that was just, urm, achieved. Unlocked I mean.

Today, I had a real life achievement.

I didn't spend a single cent the entire day!!!!! And yes, it was pay day yesterday!!!!! If that's not an achievement, I don't know what is! I didn't have to pay for dinner because Sitham and Iylia's were having a potluck today. And I was invited to join them.

Free dinner, desserts and snacks - what more can anyone ask for?

Plus, I got my RM 25 back from selling off the extra non-original Superman t-shirt that I brought to work the other day.

A special event that deserves a special blog post to celebrate! Today was a good day.....

And just another day before the weekend arrives..... that was quick.

Perfectly flawed.....

Finally decided to go check out UT as every other place has got their shipment of MP-05 Megatrons. I was hoping that Jeremy would tell me that it had sold out. It wasn't really something that I wanted but then again, I really didn't know what else to do with the RM 50 deposit I had with them. I had already lost RM 50 for cancelling the MP-01 reissue.

The original plan was simple (not in any particular order):

a) drive to The Curve to get the Superman cap I saw on Saturday
b) drive to Amcorp Mall to get the MP-05 Megatron

Something else caught my eye when I was at UT - I noticed that Jeremy had quite a selection of T-shirts. He had quite a few Superman and Transformers t-shirts. In the end, this is what I ended up with. Damage was RM 85 + RM 238 (excluding RM 50 deposit).

Haul - 22nd April 2007

Staring into the barrel....

One shall stand, one shall fall.....

I did not even attempt to transform Megatron into the gun mode, I heard its a pain in the ass.

More photos of recent purchases:

Spot the original

The original t-shirt cost me RM 85, while the other one cost me RM 25. I brought the extra one to work today cause Malini said she might need one for one of her team members. It looks like there were some other desperate people who wanted something so I got an offer to sell it off. At least I get my money back.

Design wise, I think the fake one looks slightly better with the smaller "S" shield. But oh well, its a pretty cool t-shirt. Maybe its time to go get some Transformers ones before the movie comes out!

Here's a rare glimpse of me, posing - with my new T-shirt of course!

She Only Thinks Of Me When Its Raining.....

Finally, after searching at several Toys R Us and other toy departments, I have gone full circle and finally got the last Turtle to complete the "set". Managed to find Michaelangelo at 1U Toys R Us. They had a restock but it was selling out fast again. There were only 2 Michaelangelos, 3 Donatellos and 3 Raphaels but only 1 Leonardo remaining when I was there.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the brothers reunited

While I got my Turtle, I got Luci something too..... she's a cat person.

Re-ment Cat Trading Figures (front)

Re-ment Cat Trading Figures (back)

What are trading figures? They are figures that come in small boxes and like what Forrest Gump said "you'll never know what you're gonna get". For this set, there are 10 different kinds, as seen on the back of the box. Unless of course you get the whole carton of 10. That should gurantee every single variation.

I was just browsing through the last post, and my Ninja Turtles grabbed the headlines, was prioritized over Li Kuo's wedding! Shame on me!

The calm before the storm.....

Luci had the sudden urge to take photographs of the sunset at Putrajaya. And yes, she now wants to be known as Luci, or Mickey. The plan was to get to Putrajaya in the late afternoon early evening.

I had to send Ryan for his tuition classes and stopped by The Curve after that. I remembered a few places selling T-shirts as I'll need something for Tuesday's Theme "Cartoon Characters". I saw a nice black, Superman trucker cap for RM 49 and I was set on getting that. Also checked out some other t-shirts on sale at the bazaar.

Then it rained. It was raining practically the whole afternoon - a thunderstorm. I thought that we would have to cancel due to bad weather. The backup plan was to meet later, if the storm had stopped.

By the time the skies had cleared, it was so cloudy that there was practically no sun. No sun = no sunsets.

We still ended up at Putrajaya and went to the Alamanda Shopping Mall for the first time. Luci bought a lot of tidbits and some stuff from The Body Shop.

The Concourse Area

The roof/skylight directly above the Concourse

I saw the skylight, she saw an Angel.....

I didn't realize until she mentioned it to me while we were viewing the photo I took. Quick, make a wish.....

Checked out the shops and stalls there. Unexpectedly, I ended up with this:

The iconic "S" shield got my attention from afar. The t-shirt was nice, the colours are accurate. Decided to buy it as I thought I could use it this coming Tuesday.

Only problem now, it doesn't fucking fit. The shirt was too small. I think I might have to frame it up if I have the extra cash to spare. It would make a very nice poster-like wall art/deco item.

Looks like I might have to go back to Metrojaya at The Curve to get the cap after all. Why go through all the hassle just for some team activity? Because I've let my team down before, and besides, the winners for the last quarter got RM 200 in prize money, while runners up received RM 100. I suppose that's motivation enough.

We had dinner at a place called Lemongrass, the beef rendang wasn't too bad - I don't know if it was intentional but, there was a very strong, fragrance of lemongrass in the rendang.

We talked about going to Paddington's House of Pancakes last weekend. And that's where we went today, after dinner. For more dinner. Maybe it was supper.

I'm surprised I still managed to finish my Blintze (mashed potatoes with pepperoni and sour cream) and still had some of Luci's Seattle pannekoek which had tomatoes, cheese and pepperoni as well. The Seattle was abit like pizza during the first few bites, then after awhile, it turned out to be more like lagsane.

I was tempted to go for my usual Chocolate Roll again. Maybe next time.....

Seattle Pannekoek

Russian Blintze

I was just Googled Paddingtons and I just realized that they have other branches at Hartamas and at 1U as well! And another one in Penang! I never seen that before!

Paddington's House of Pancakes

Luci was determined to get her caffeine fix - she says the coffee at Hollys is really good. I think its pretty good too. I had the Mocha Hollycino today - their version of the Ice Blended/Frappucino.

We spent about an hour chilling with our coffee and my PSP. Attempted to login to the Internet but that didn't work out.

I admit the coffee is pretty good but another thing that I like about Hollys is that its big and airy. Lots of space. Starbucks and Coffee Bean always seem cramped to me.

There was a contest a few weeks back, an Easter Egg colouring competition. We all had a sheet of paper with an oval on it. This entry got me 2nd place, as judged by our Managers.

2nd Place = .....

2nd Prize

For my effort, I received RM 20 worth of Starbucks vouchers, a pack of Cadbury chocolate, another box of chocolate coated almonds, 2 x 2-finger Kit Kats, Mentos and a tube of Original Pringles. Not bad for about 1 1/2 hours spent!

And now, for some more awesome stuff:

I've just read about the Transformers Encore, a re-release of old G1 (Generation 1) toys. Its an opportunity for me to get the Optimus Prime that I used to have! The price is reasonable at about RM 150. Some shops are already taking pre-orders.

I'm not too concerned about the other figures, or even Megatron. But Prime..... The last time I checked the price for the re-released Optimus Prime back in 2002, it was about RM 600. I hope I won't miss out AGAIN!

And finally, some of the nicest stuff I've seen online the past couple of weeks:

Kotobukiya are coming up with some really nice vinyl statues like the Catwoman above. The best one I think:

Kotobukiya Supergirl

I've never really been a fan of Supergirl - but that is one statue I wouldn't mind having. Price expected in the region of US $80 for that.

She only thinks of me when its raining.....

Luci says I used to write stories. And she used to like the way that I wrote. She says my latest posts have been shit. Maybe I shouldn't try to make them shorter. If people don't mind long winded, I'll give them long winded! Or at least I'll try.....

I Want You Back.....

Sylvia and I went to Cineleisure to catch "Wild Hogs" today - although there were some funny, laugh out loud scenes, the movie was so-so.

Cineleisure was buzzing with activities. The usual weekend bazaar, so we browsed around. Met Lester who told me he's now working with MySciFi Outpost. No wonder I don't see him at work anymore!

We had time to spare before, so we stopped by Hollys Coffee. I had the iced mocha, while Sylvia had something with caramel, her treat. We found out that it was a Korean franchise (which would explain the Korean-type drinks on the menu! And then when sipping the drinks, I noticed Asians in the posters). This was the only branch so far. We had a chat with the Korean manager/owner(?) who spoke some English. She had really fair skin and Sylvia thought she was really pretty.

Hollys Coffee - The Korean Starbucks?

We had dinner at Marche Movenpick after "Wild Hogs". Sylvia wanted to try the Fondue and since Fondue House is no more, this is the only place left to my knowledge, that has it.

Cheese Fondue

The verdict? I'm disappointed with it, for the price (RM 29.90), it only came with bread. The cheese was lumpy and didn't seem to melt. I really wouldn't recommend it - unless you really must get your Fondue fix. Fondue House - I WANT YOU BACK!

I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu (Chicken stuffed with ham and cheese) which came with side orders of salad and mashed potatoes smothered with black pepper sauce.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

We also got some sauteed mushrooms, garlic chicken foot long sausage and drinks. And for dessert, it was a creme caramel/creme brulee. Total bill came up to about RM 92++.

Yes, Sylvia likes taking photos of stuff and she borrowed my phone for this. All the pictures of the food taken by her.

Eeeeyer, drooling.....

What's this? Guy Sebastian was having dinner at Marche too? Actually, I look like I've got an Afro there! Guess its time for a haircut pretty soon.

I was having the cheese from the fondue, it had the consistency of rubber.

I didn't really want to take photos, but Sylvia forced me to. She was armed with knives, forks, and the fondue fork/spear thing as well.

Sylvia - gaming on my PSP

She claims that she's getting addicted to Lumines.

Sylvia

Sylvia and a copy of Hot magazine..... is she trying to hint something? Sylvia had another haircut within the last week or 2. (All special effects added intentionally to protect the identities of the people mentioned/showned in this blog)

After dinner, we stopped by Gamer's Hideout to check out the price of the PSP. Sylvia seems really tempted to get one now. We also checked out Shiok Toys - Sylvia thinks the Hot Toys Superman looks cool too.

Chinny taught me a new blogging style. I read her blog which was very short yet descriptive. I told her I liked the way she wrote her blog and wish I could blog like her as mine tends to drag on and on.

She said mine was written in a way as if I'm telling the readers what I want to tell them. Her style is written in such a way that its an announcement. I've never thought about it that way before. I'm trying to imitate her style.

K.I.S.S - Keep It Short and Simple.

How am I doing so far?

My New Pet Turtles....

Say hello to my new pets, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello.

Just the other day, I mentioned that it was impossible to get these figures. I only found 1 the other day, Michaelangelo and decided not to get it. It was all or nothing.

Today, at Toys R Us Subang Parade - I managed to find Leo, Raph and Don MINUS Mike. What the fuck?!?!

Needless to say, I grabbed them right away. Asked one of the guys if there was any stock left and he said he was waiting for stock and didn't know when the new batch would arrive. He also said that everyone's looking for the ninja's now.

I guess 3 out of 4 is better than 1 out of 4. I didn't like Mike's wacky eyes as well as his nunchucks as well. I guess this is better than nothing.

Also scored myself a pretty hard to find Transformers Classics Jetfire. I never really liked jets and airplanes like some of the other kids when I was young. I liked bulldozers and cranes. I'm starting to like aircraft - especially those of the Macross variety.

I was invited to Li Kuo's wedding. I think this is my first time attending a church wedding. Decided to carpool with Weng.

I was already zoned out from the lack of sleep as I slept about 5:30 am this morning. I was surprised I managed to wake up in time for the church ceremony at Life Chapel, Section 17. Got Deidere and Daphne to drop me at Weng's place and it was to the Chapel from there.

There were a few speeches by various people followed by a couple of choir performances from various church groups.

We were a little late and we didn't get good seats so this was what I managed to come up with.

Group Choir 1

Group Choir 2

In between the speeches etc, I managed to get some interesting candid shots. The zoom on the K800i is nothing to shout about resulting in noisy pictures.

And they called it puppy love.....

This is the sound of breaking up.....

Now, man and wife.....

It was then off for a buffet luncheon downstairs after that. Dinner was scheduled for 7:30pm, Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya.

Weng had the same idea as I had, to get Li Kuo and bride a gift. We stopped at Subang Parade to look for a last minute gift. Some changes - I thought Toys R Us had closed down as well. Only found out they moved upstairs after checking the directory.

Subang Parade seems to have come up with a pretty decent Floor Directory of the mall. There's actually a grid for the locations. Example, XXX is in Zone A5. Makes it easier to look and locate. Pretty handy.

Weng and I decided to get a photo frame in the shape of a diamond ring with a crystal on top of the round shaped frame to represent the ring and diamont. We also got a pair of Arrawanna Fish figures to represent peace and harmony in a marriage. Or something like that.

We didn't get good seats as relatives took up tables closest to the stage, bride and groom.

While waiting, I managed to get these shots:

Japanese and Italian (not in picture) food promotion

My favourite of the 3

Booked movie tickets at Cineleisure via Internet for the first time yesterday. Sylvia wants to watch "Wild Hogs" tomorrow. From the trailer, it doesn't look too bad.

You can actually select your seating from the Cineleisure Internet booking, where you can see where the screen position is relative to your seats. Its just like buying over the counter. How awesome is that?!
